Dealing with the new player experience

So I've been trying to get some friends into destiny and so far new light seems to have made the new player experience worse. Removing the campaign makes players have no set goal when starting the game. In addition, not having a tutorial that explains the basic game mechanics such as adventures, strikes, patrol, etc. causes a lot of questions. Many of my friends feel very confused as to what to do when starting the game and I have to guide them through it as the in-game explanations are missing. New light quests leave out a lot of the details out and don't teach you a lot. Adding the campaign back and providing a better, smoother process of going from starting the game to endgame in my opinion would make players much more likely to stick with the game. Another problem with starter missions is that many of the first few limit the fireteam to one which means that you can't play with friends right at the beginning, further disincentivizing getting friends into the game. Right now, players are just thrown into the endgame with no idea of where to start unless they watch new player guides on YouTube. I understand that Bungie is trying to provide an immersive starting experience but I think that a cut scene or two explaining everything, or possibly something closer to a traditional tutorial would much more engaging and enlightening. In addition, the menu layout for quests and stuff is rather complicated which reduces the ability to participate in activities, particularly if you don't even know how to start it. And I quote, "It's a lot of information being thrown at you with very little being explained." I know Bungie worked on the new player experience to make it easier for players to get straight into the endgame and make it more accessible but in the process left out a lot of the things that originally attracted players to the game. In order to improve it, I think that a more handholdy approach to starting would be better but also make it skippable for those who know what they're doing or have friends willing to guide them. As a bonus, add back the main campaign as an optional thing that people start with and remove having to finish the main campaign to receive bounties.
