Problem reading Destiny 2 content. Xbox One X.

I’ve seen other posts about this, but no solutions, yet. I can’t even start the game. I only get an Xbox error message saying, “Problem reading Destiny 2 content. Please close and restart Destiny 2 to try again.” I’ve been through multiple reinstallations, hard resets, etc. I haven’t reset my Xbox to factory defaults yet because everyone who has this problem said it didn’t work, but that’s the one thing I haven’t tried. I bought the game via digital download. I’m not having trouble playing anything else. Like I said, I saw other posts about this from earlier in the year, but couldn’t find any troubleshooting ideas. Any updates to this issue I’m not finding?

  • When you've reinstalled, have you installed anything else first? That error tends to indicate a hard drive issue, and if you delete and then reinstall the same thing, it installs to the same part of the drive, which doesn't do anything to potentially help the issue. If you delete Destiny, install something else, then reinstall Destiny so it writes to a different spot, that might make Destiny work. It may be that your hard drive needs to be replaced, but another option would be to get a USB hard drive and plug that in to your Xbox, and install Destiny there. Depending on what kind if drive you get, it can very noticeably improve the load speed of things in Destiny.
