ritual weapons have a grind as bad as the old pinacle weapons maybe worse

so far i have managed to grind out both the gambit and vanguard ritual weapons and right now I am two thirds done with the crucible one, that said.....the grind is just as bad, I am sure the scholar who made the grind for these is one of the same people who seem to think a slug shotgun can't accurately hit a target 100m away and drops off after 11 or 12 meters. part of the problem i might have getting randys throwing knife might be that i suck in the PVP side of the game but nonetheless the grind they put on these is kind of stupid, im all for the grind they have on say last word, ace of spades and lumina since those are good exotics but to put this much of a grind on something which only advantage is some perks that already exist.....kind of dumb, i mean why make the grind take so long, hell im almost done with getting recluse and mountaintop from having to grind the hell out of survival. slightly annoying grind aside i am having fun since sometimes i do well in the pvp part other times quite an embarassment.

 • My big issue with them isn't that they're hard, or even that they're long. It's that they're so damn boring. Like, doing an inane and mundane task like "get scout rifle kills" is par for the course I guess, but they're always the bottom of the barrel type of quest, and they're always what people are talking about when they complain about games feeling too much like a second job. You walk in and the game expects you to do a task for your reward. Maybe that task is shooting a man with a gun, maybe that task is stocking the shelves at the local walmart, or taking a routine tech support call. Then, instead of the joy of immediate joy upon completion of the task, as we would if it was something like running a very hard nightfall strike, the game turns around and goes "Now do that one hundred more times, except we also want you do some more busy work along the way." and much like stocking the shelves while helping customers every few minutes; you don't even get a reward for doing this task until several days later, and much like the paycheck you get at walmart; the more you look at it the more you wonder if it was ever worth it. What I'm saying is that if you're going to give us a long and grindy quest, it's got to be something more than just "get a lot of kills with one specific weapon in one specific game mode" because oh man is that the least interesting possible way to design content. But, then again, I did just finally finish the grenade launcher that wanted fifteen hundred grenade launcher kills and five hundred grenade launcher multi-kills exclusively in playlist strikes. So I'm starting to think bungie's just forgotten what fun quest design was. Because it sure isn't "Can you do this task? Cool, now do it until that task stops having any and all meaning and you want to die."
