It's back to D1 SBMM.. I also think it has a lot to do with Glory rank. I have a friend I play with a lot and he doesnt do a ton of crucible. When we team up he struggles to get over a 1kd, but solo he dominates his lobbies. So annoying.

I think it's working ok for you then. In my games it's not unfortunately. I dont know what your skill level is but I think I've figured out what's happening where I am. It's hard to find a full set of players at the same skill. So bungie averages out the team not the players so it pairs great players with lesser against a team with similar skill averages. Obviously the team with the closest player averages will win because they know how to play at that level. The lower players on the team with the great player get stomped and dont have a clue what to do. So they die use all the lives and dont do much. Leaving the great player getting kills but having no lives left to carry.
