1) There is a known nightmare weapon coming from the new dungeon. That probably means there is at least one new nightmare. Is there any hint who it is? Oryx? Valus Ta'aurc? Sepiks? Mindbender? Nokris? Ir Halak? Ir Anuk? Alak-Hul? Malok? Aksis?
No hints. We don’t know what any other Nightmares will be.
2) Are Crota's children really attempting to revive Oryx? I know many people are speculating on that, but are they really?
No. Crota’s daughters had faith that Crota and Oryx aren’t truly dead, but no attempts were made to revive them because it’s more complicated than waving your hands and shouting “Boop-bop-a-doop!” https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/x-faith-in-bone#book-inquisition-of-the-damned
3) If they are planning to revive Oryx, could Nokris be involved? We know he practices necromancing. Could he be teaching them? Or maybe just something they picked up along the way due to lack of leadership and no clear direction?
No, Nokris is not involved. They despise Nokris because he defies true death with necromancy. If Oryx is revived it will not be necromancy.
4) What is the fate of Nokris? Did he have an ascendant realm? He came out of a portal. Makes me think we haven't seen the last of him.
He was Ascendant, though he might not have had his own Throne World. I don’t know if he’s truly dead or if he’s still alive.
5) Could more pyramid ships be scattered throughout the system? It took us until now to find the one on the moon. For example, could one be on Io? Titan? Etc.
Highly doubtful. There’s the one on the Moon (which was there long before the Collapse happened). The rest of the fleet is coming.
6) Are Xivu Arath and Savathun really working together? I know in the ascendant challenges, Toland hints to it. I thought all the siblings were fighting one another.
They work together and fight each other. They always have.
7) Is Taniks still alive? I know we fought a nightmare of him, but not him directly.
He might still be alive, but if he is then he’s in hiding and no one knows.
8) What is the Fanatic doing? Will he try and make new Scorn barons one day and claim revenge on us? I think it would be cool if Fikrul was going around reviving dead Fallen we've killed like Vosik, Siviks, Taniks, Skolas, etc. That'd be a mean army.
The Fanatic is still reviving himself and the Scorn, but they’re defeated and the Guardians make sure they stay down.
9) What is Eramis doing? With her failed attempt on getting SIVA in the old tower, will she continue to go after it? To me I think she will head to Nessus and we may have a DLC next year where Nessus turns into a Plaguelands type of thing.
She’s gathering followers and trying to rebuild Devils. We have the Outbreak Perfected now, so she has no current reason to invade the Tower again.
10) Anything new with our buddy Uldren?
No
11) What's going on with the surviving conspirators against Calus? Umun'arath? Caiatl? Are they still loyal to the Red Legion?
They’re controlling the Cabal Empire.
12) Are the Vex working for the pyramid ships and the Darkness? The statue in the raid makes me think they are.
No. The Vex of the Black Garden worship the Darkness to gain power, but that’s it.
13) Can Dredgen Yor be revived? I know in lore entries Shin Malphur communicates with his ghost. If the Ghost is alive, can he be?
Possibly.
14) Last but not least, is anything new with Efrideet? I feel like D2, besides a small lore tab where she fought to retake the city, has done her no justice.
No
Highly doubtful. There’s the one on the Moon (which was there long before the Collapse happened). The rest of the fleet is coming.
Do they have bad engines or something? What’s the hold up? They were on the edge of our galaxy a few years ago, but it takes me a few minutes to bounce around every single planet. Did they leave the lights on and drain the battery or something?

  • It takes light minutes to travel between planets but years to travel between stars. It totally makes sense that they’re taking awhile.

  • I guess, but something that big should surely have a warp drive or something, or at least some really powerful engines. After all, they’ve been chasing that disco ball around all the time, right? So why wouldn’t they think of a faster way to catch it?......unless...they don’t want to yet. What if they’re already here, waiting just outside of scanning range?

  • <Light spread across the galaxy almost instantly and reached the Pyramid Armada in moments. They definitely have warp and they'll be here real -blam!-ing quick, quicker than if it took Light as much time to hit them as light does.>

  • Any connection with Divinity to the Sky/Perdition ornament being similar to past mercury's Gardener's Spire and the Precursor Vex? or is it just an ornament for looks?

  • Well, they seem to have intentionally made it have Vex-ish colors, but I doubt there’s any significant reason. Just for looks and to match the Vex season.

  • How do we know the Pyramid was there before the collapse? I assumed it either phased into the moon during the collapse or did so to escape the Traveler's burst of energy. I'm also puzzled why it had no inhabitants. Rather, do they even have inhabitants? Are they machine gods like the Traveler that fight with energy waves or...?!

  • The Pyramid ship is found on the Moon during the Golden Age in the Revelations Book. https://www.ishtar-collective.net/categories/book-revelation?highlight=Book And we sadly have no idea what’s up with the inhabitants of the Pyramid ships. We don’t know if there were aliens in them or not. Telling by the account of Ada-1’s mother, there were. Maybe just the one on the Moon isn’t inhabited. We don’t know.

  • Thanks for replying. Those entries were so vague. One of the survivors mentions there being creatures out there killing everyone but it seems to have happened differently to different people, like the Pyramids wage warfare in every way possible to combat every kind of response. Physical, Psychological, Espionage, distorting events. In one of Rasputins observations from D1 Grmiore he theorized that the Darkness operates on an effect then cause mechanic. Even the A.I was going nuts. Am I understanding things correctly?

  •
Those entries were so vague.
Indeed. But still a good and informative read. I really geeked out when we found out one of the scientists was the person who invented the interstellar engine that made the Exodus program truly possible.
One of the survivors mentions there being creatures out there killing everyone but it seems to have happened differently to different people, like the Pyramids wage warfare in every way possible to combat every kind of response. Physical, Psychological, Espionage, distorting events.
Actually, the Pyramid ship on the Moon is the only thing we know of that’s waged war differently from the others. All accounts of the Collapse and other events (Books of Sorrow, Whirlwind, etc.) portray the Pyramid fleet directly attacking worlds and/or using that gravity thing to attack. The only exception so far has been our Moon’s ship. During the Golden Age all it did was send a signal and basically stress out everyone near it. Then in Shadowkeep it unleashed the Nightmares. I guess it’s just the weird little brother of the fleet lol
In one of Rasputins observations from D1 Grmiore he theorized that the Darkness operates on an effect then cause mechanic. Even the A.I was going nuts. Am I understanding things correctly?
I don’t remember that at all. You would have to tell me what grimoires it was.

You can’t trust everything you read on Destinypedia. It’s a good site, but very prone to mistakes. If you can’t find the quotes in actual lore excerpts, then don’t believe it. I’ll give it a look though.

  • I'll try to find it, it's many of Rasputins analysis entries pieced together, when he talks about his different directives pertaining to the "extrasolar event" and runs something called a bootstrap analysis to find the origins of whatever was moving past.

  • Thanks. What you said seems right. The whole “effect before cause” thing is literally the paracausal abilities of the Light and Darkness, and Bungie has referred to it as such many times. So it’s probably right, I’d just like to see the grimoires because I don’t remember ever reading them. I’m interested in seeing a submind AI flip out.

  •
13) Can Dredgen Yor be revived? I know in lore entries Shin Malphur communicates with his ghost. If the Ghost is alive, can he be?
Highly unlikely. Dredgen Yor was in the proximity of the corrupted Thorn for so long that it twisted and corrupted his mind. If a bullet can permanently kill a guardian by draining their light, rendering their ghost unable to revive them, it would be safe to assume that Yor himself had his own light drained over his reign of terror and has been rendered permanently dead
