[Bug] Keep getting 750 gear while I'm close to 950 cap
Activities occasionally drop gear that has light level 750 even though I'm almost at cap. I assume there is a bug in the logic that determines soft cap. My titan initially had that problem - I had created him before the expansion but never finished the story. After I did the intro mission and transferred some guns he would only get 750 gear even though his light was 830ish. My warlock and hunter keep getting these pieces too occasionally. I think most of the time it is the seasonal armor.

I've recently started playing and made a warlock. After playing for a day and getting up to 845 i went to play the red war campaign through with the Legacy questline and since then I'm only getting 750 gear. I thought it was based on the red war only but then went to the moon to do a quest and got another 750 drop.

ive had it happen on the moon doing different things and my powerful reward from gambit , all 750 instead of 950

My base lvl is 950 on 2 characters and my IB armor drops at 950 sometimes and right before my eyes it turns in to 750 gear!!! I've talked to others about this and they also have this happening, also the Lectern when crafting weapons stated the weapon would drop at 950 and when taken became 947! Again my base is 950, please advise. Thanks.

Same exact thing has been happening to me I’m at 960 or above and 750 gear drops. It’s only the seasonal gear as well. I don’t pay attention to power caps but if I’m at 13 plus power and Iron Banner is dropping gear at 951? 🤷♂️ Just wanted to chime in you aren’t the only one.

I don't think it's a bug because I've never had a Powerful reward drop at 750. It's probably linked to Seasonal bonuses from rank up and chances at additional armor. These additional drops are essentially more opportunities at good stat rolls. And it's so easy to immediately infuse up.

As you rank up your Seasonal Artifact, you'll unlock Scrounger perks. Scrounger perks will drop certain gear and weapons in certain activities. Those drops will always be 750 power level. This happens at the following ranks: Rank 43 - Strike Armor Scrounger Rank 53 - Gambit Armor Scrounger Rank 63 - Crucible Armor Scrounger Rank 71 - Strike Auto Rifle Scrounger Rank 73 - Gambit Auto Rifle Scrounger Rank 81 - Gambit Machine Gun Scrounger Rank 83 - Crucible Auto Rifle Scrounger Rank 91 - Crucible Machine Gun Scrounger Rank 93 - Strike Machine Gun Scrounger The Armor Scroungers have a chance of dropping a piece of the seasonal substitutional alloy armor set at the end of the activity (crucible, strikes and gambit) The Auto Rifle Scroungers have a chance of dropping the seasonal auto rifle named Pluperfect at the end of the activity (crucible, strikes and gambit) The Machine Gun Scroungers have a chance of dropping the seasonal machine gun named Let the Future Narrow at the end of the activity (crucible, strikes and gambit) If any of the above drop, they will drop at power level 750, not your level.

Thets nothing all the gear in the battle pass is 750 and all arc bow why would anyone want several wrmor sets of the same gear

Like others have said it's only the seasonal pass extra rewards that drop at 750, the season pass perks that say like "chance at an extra chest piece on strike completions" etc.

yeah, was wondering about this yesterday.. had a chest (non IB) drop from a iron banner game (rank up reward) and it was 750.. i have almost everythign at 950 so that might be an issue that reward hat should be capped at 950 is accidentially capped at 750
