Destiny 2 PvP Kinda Infuriating, Too Much Shotgun Spam

Okay so I'm not going to say that I'm a hardcore player of D2 but one major thing really grinds my gears about this game and that is the amount of grinding in PvP you have to do for exotics or quests in general. This is made so much worse when you have to grind out kills with a specific weapon type and everyone else is camping with snipers or scout rifles. I was happier with it before when Shotguns and Snipers were considered heavy weapons. I felt like it gave a bit more balance and players of all skill levels could jump into PvP and have fun with it. But now as I'm trying to grind for Thorn I have to constantly play the survival playlist and get kills with handcannons, I was at this for 6 hours straight yesterday and barely got to 41% of the quest step. And all the while I was put up against higher skill players who were almost constantly rushing/ camping with shotguns. It's infuriating. And I'm not even really into playing the PvP anyway. I dunno man just sucks. Would really like it better if they could revert it to Shottys being heavy weapons or hell play around with gamemodes or something. Make a barebones playlist or something so it can feel more like classic Halo and not so much of the supers and one shot abilities. kinda kills it for me. Probably will get a lot of flak for this post or "git gud" but just wanted to share my two cents on the PvP (Also p.s. Does anyone else feel like the gunplay in PvP isn't very snappy? I feel like a lot of my shots aren't hitting or theres quite some delay between shooting and my shots actually hitting, eh maybe I'm just doing something wrong) Thanks for reading you guys!
