Probably a little late to ask this question, but I keep reading a bunch of these lore tabs where random guardians have a pretty badass death and I randomly thought, "did these guardians die permanently?" Like, did their ghosts survive and they were revived after the campaign ending or was the light not able to flow through them anymore?

Probably a little late to give the correct answer, but no, they were not. Provided that the ghost survived the darkness (worth noting that during this darkness ghosts were EXTREMELY weak), they were able to revive their fallen guardians. There's even a lore about it: https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/who-guards-the-guardians#book-ghost-stories In this, as the light the returns, and although the ghost is (sadly) destroyed in doing so, it is able to resurrect her guardian.

Editado por Grays_KS27: 7/18/2019 5:27:04 PMBungie actually hasn’t given us an answer to that. If a Guardian died in the Red War but their Ghost survived, it may be possible that the Ghost could revive their Guardian with the Light back. HOWEVER, there’s also a chance that it’s impossible to revive those Guardians, because they died Lightless. This would be somewhat similar to situations where Guardians died in Darkness zones and couldn’t be revived. But the situation with the Red War was completely unique -with the Light being lost then returning being very different from the usual Darkness zone situations, especially because Darkness zones tend to be a permanent absence of Light- and there is no lore addressing this question, so we don’t have an answer. Edit: There is some lore that could possibly have the answer. When the Drifter and his crew were stranded on that icy rock in space, they could revive when they died. But if one of the Light-repelling creatures came close when a crewman died, the crewman couldn’t be revived even after the creature had left. So these Guardians died in a Darkness zone. Then the Darkness zone moved away so that the Light was back, but they still couldn’t be revived. This suggests that a Guardian who dies Lightless is permanently dead no matter what. So I believe Guardians who died in the Red War are permanently dead even if their Ghosts lived.

Yep, and then they were fed to Ghaul's Warbeast's in that one room before confronting Space Bane himself.

No Light No Life

You know at least one poor SOB had his light sapped by Ghaul in the Crucible just as some jerk fired a rocket. Whoopsie. You dead.
-
They dead like sticks of wood.
-
Yes, they died. The ghost even says in the first mission that he can't revive us if we die.

If I remember right, and I think it was lore from D1, but if a guardian has lost all of their light, a ghost can not revive. The guardian has to have light, and even then if their is too little of the light in the guardian then a ghost can not revive ether. The youtuber My name is byf, if I recall correctly, did a video about the light and resurrecting guardians.

*sips coffee* Yup. Dead dead deadskie.
-
Without the light, they can’t be resurrected, even if their Ghost is alive.
-
i always assumed that if a guardian died while ghaul had it trapped they were permadead since they no longer have the light

Interesting thought and that brings up some lore tabs. I wanna know what happened to the Titan that one eyed mask was about. His ghost died but he didn't
-
They were likely killed along with there ghost, so they are perma dead.

... They were dead dead...
not included in the DLC
