Crown of Sorrows- On leviathan??

I've heard it said in a number of places, but not officially by Bungie. How do we "know" that this raid is on the Leviathan?? [armory]Ok, I guess we'll find out come June 4th! I hope we don't return to the Leviathan... I'm done with that place![/armory]

  • In the “Forsaken Launch and Beyond” ViDoc, one of the first things we see when the start talking specifically about Penumbra is the Leviathan from outside. Then we see a shot of inside the Leviathan. Then another shot from inside the Leviathan. Then another shot from inside the Leviathan. They all look like they could be new areas of the Leviathan, and if we’ve learned anything about the Annual Pass content, it’s that we don’t get a whole lot of new areas that aren’t based on the activities in the expansion, so it’d be reasonable to assume that this could be footage from inside the raid. That video was from over 8 months ago. Then, in the “The Road Ahead” ViDoc, not even a minute in, we see an image of Benedict (The Leviathan vendor) holding the Leviathan sword. Prior to this moment in the video, we had seen the same image of Benedict, but instead he was standing on the Leviathan. This isn’t much to go on, but it reinforces the fact that we will be spending time on the Leviathan once again, and every other time we’ve done so, it’s been for a raid or a raid lair. That video was from over 5 months ago. I’m not going to go searching for other appearances of the Leviathan in promotional material, but I’m sure there’s been some others. So yeah, whilst we haven’t been outright told that we’re going to have a raid on the Leviathan, it is clear that we’re going to be spending time on the Leviathan, and the evidence points towards that time involving a raid.

  • There’s plenty of snapshots of the Leviathan background, and the featured char for this expansion is the Leviathan raid vendor robot from the Tower.

There were leaks a little while ago that suggested we'd be returning to the Leviathan. Google it. EDIT: Did it for you, here's a brief summary: Story: We return to the leviathan and discover the source of emperor Calus's power. This also has the first tease of the darkness enemies to be introduced in D3, and was also teased in the drifters lore entry about creatures on an ice planet that he found. Weapons: Rose, Hawkmoon, and Dark Drinker are all coming Activities: Just like how Jokers Wild had "Mamba" as a code-name for Gambit Prime, Penumbra has a code name "Dragonslayer" for it's pinnacle activity. A new game mode that blends puzzle solving with wave based combat akin to prison of elders, comparable to an escape room Now this comes from a source that accurately leaked many details about each release from the Season pass, but was mentioned as 'early plans' and of course is still a leak from an anonymous source so don't take it as gospel. We'll see in the next couple of weeks. There was also a rumour of a 12-man raid and some PvPvE stuff but that was likely added by 4chan.

        • Because it's likely to be a reskin of the Y1 Leviathan Raid, but with Taken instead of Cabal.
