Does't matter, these nerfs need to happen for the health of the overall game. The Legend Himself made an excellent video detailing the reasons why many of these nerfs need to happen for the long term health of the game, and I for one agree with most of his posts. Hell, even Joker agrees with the super nerfs.

Gee somebody grab my couch I’m feeling faint with surprise.

  • It's an unpopular opinion, but if people would stop being butthurt they'd realize it's needed. Try designing a new raid with all these exotics at play. You either have to design the raid with them in mind or without them.. If you design the raid for people without those exotics, then it's a complete pushover for those with them. If you design the raid for people with the exotics, then people without them are a waste of space. If you needed strats that take advantage of the best exotics in the game FOR PRESTIGE MODES, then I'd be all for it... but Bungie kind of screwed the pooch on that one.

  • You say if you design it with these weapons in mind, you mean the ones everyone has access to, then you say the ones who don't have them will be useless, well how about their useless asses get out of the tower and snag the weapons? I could see if only the elite players could get them this is not the case bungie released them how they intended, now time invested getting these was a waste i.e. bungie not giving a shit about the people who did their content and pandering to the lazy, maybe they should balance raids with what's in game in mind and stop making it so time invested means nothing and maybe just maybe the community would appreciate them a little more. Just food for thought.

  • So you think it's fine to design a raid around having a few warlocks nova bombing every couple seconds or require a raid to have a constant supply of wells to survive an encounter? You think it's fine to make it so people can trivialize a fight by having a single hunter put on orpheos rigs and spawn literally hundreds of orbs within a minute? If you design a raid to work that way, the people who are newer to the game will need to be carried to complete the raid. You get most exotics by random chance, so if you are required to have a specific one to be useful in a raid, there is a problem. Everyone just wants to be angry about something... I personally just want raids to be challenging again.

  • Did you day 1 clear last wish? Raids are still plenty difficult where it counts anything after week one and people figure out how to cheese it, and trivialize every encounter, so the weapons aren't an issue people not wanting to learn mechanics and wanting to cheese anything g is what makes the raid easy.....

  • My clan got world 17th. Me, running 9 clans now, don't have time for that stuff anymore. I shouldn't have to lower my light level to make something challenging, and if it's challenging it should reward you more for completing it. Yes, that was hard, but then you get some gear and it quickly becomes child's play.

  • To be fair, these are basically MLG players you're referencing, they're on a whole different level of play than the majority of the community. So while they probably make good points from where they stand, they are not the ruler to which this game should be measured. They make most difficult activities look trivial and mundane, so of course they're going to think the game needs to be more challenging from their perspective. The game has gotten too meta for it's own good. What NEEDS to happen is Bungie needs to take a long hard look at their design philosophy and temper player expectation. It is NOT cool to knowingly introduce OP weapons into the game with the intent to nerf them later on. This stamps an expiry date on every powerful item in the game. If it feels too fun to use, it will be nerfed. The game was built on the idea of a power fantasy with guns like Icebreaker, Invective, Ghorn etc. etc. This is what gave Destiny it's identity, crazy powerful and fun weapons to chase and play with. They play with that nostalgia to get players to come back and grind for guns like Whisper. They KNEW whisper was OP when they put it in the game, because it was OP in D1 and they nerfed it then, now they're doing the exact same nerf again in D2, so why add it into the game in the first place?

  • It was not built on the power fantasy of breaking the game. Bungie constantly nerfed outliers like those weapons overtime in D1, to say they wouldn't do the same now is a ridiculous expectation.

  • I agree with you. It is funny how people will instantly disregard someone's opinion because they are a youtuber. He gave good points. But most people love to just label someone and treat them accordingly.

  • The problem with listening to a streamer is they make a small portion of the community probably like 1% if you balance to the 1% and disregard the other let's say average player base the other 60% and then completely ignore the lower tier bottom 39% you have failed. Bungie should be balancing around the average player the 60% majority these are the players that matter if the 1% leaves so be it someone out of the 60% will replace them. Just putting it out there balancing to the 1% is not intelligent nor fun for anyone else. I do happen to fall in the top tier pve players and I don't agree with them balancing this way.

  • It really isn't fair to those who play the game religiously to not provide them a challenge. I agree that they need to keep the average player in mind, but if they planned on a prestige mode of a raid while in the design phase, they could keep everyone happy. One of my clans is semi-hardcore. Our PVE'ers want a challenge and destiny isn't giving it to them anymore. We lost a lot of people when Bungie said they weren't going to do prestige modes anymore. I really dont blame any of them for quitting the game.

  • That falls on to your clan you can always try for worlds fastest times, day ones, flawless, two man there are still ways to challenge yourself people just want an excuse to give bungie slack for the nerfs and everything they are doing.

  • Well, before some of our best quit, they were literally #1 for cumulative speed clear time on raid.report so........... They also the 17th group to clear last wish... These nerfs are warranted. I'm sorry if you dont agree with it, but it's for the best. Hopefully you guys will see this eventually.

  • Oh. If a You Tube influencer agrees with Bungie then all the negative reactions are wrong then? Just an opinion not the be all and end all comment on the topic. Entitled to his view as are you but that in no way means the overall reaction has any less validity.

Those two are also pretty oblivious to the fact that Bungie only has two type of "challenges" within the game. Either throw a tons of enemies at you or the same exact boss mechanic over and over again. Mechanic, mechanic.. Dps.. Mechanic, mechanic.. Dps.. So of course when Bungie can't think of anything else to do; a handful of weapons are going to shine all the time.

  • The health of pve. You are brainwashed. Pve players want to be rewarded for time and effort. They never learn. You never take away something players had. Period. Blizzard told Bingie that. Nerfs are not needed at all.

  • That's bad rng, you can go from 600-700 in a week, you get the best sniper from a 380 mission, you can get all the op non quest exotics (excluding shards and phoenix prot) from xur. Dont you remember when it took hours upon hours to get one part of the exotic sword quest done? or how bout the sleeper where you had to complete public events on each planet?

  • Yeah rewarded by not breaking the F***ing game to the point where making these exotics a MANDATORY REQUIREMENT for activities because Bungie is now forced to balance the end game around these exotics because you don't want to go grab your teammates stinking orbs.
