I threw up a little when reading this. You're a customer to them, nothing else. It's this kind of ridiculous loyalty to companies that is degrading the very basis of commerce.

  • You got to remember that Bungie, while doing many, MANY stupid things, could have easily abandoned the Destiny franchise after the massive failure of D2’s launch. Instead, they went out of their way to completely overhaul the game at no extra cost. In-game lore, expanding the weapon system, making supers actually feel super, Eververse being so summer friendly, the Zero Hour and Whisper missions, and so forth. Anthem, on the other hand, is barely alive with a dwindling player base. All I’m saying is that we have to give them credit where credit is due.

Oh come on, don't be nieve. They weren't abandoning anything and couldn't do if they wanted to with Activision providing the funding. Investors care about engagement now more than ever so they had to do something. This isn't Bioware with several projects in development, it's Bungie with one game. They don't have anything else to fall back on and had they abandoned the game, they wouldn't exist anymore. Also fixing a game and putting in the content that should've been there at launch, shouldn't cost the customer anything, so the whole 'did it FOR no extra cost' is ridiculous. Whisper wasn't Bungie either, that was all VV.

  • What game ISN’T about making money? All games have the purpose of making money by providing people something they’ll like. That’s not a hard concept to follow. So of course developers are worried about making the game as engaging as it can be. If the game wasn’t engaging, people wouldn’t play it. Sure, I’ll also give props to VV for helping with making the content. Bungie still runs the show though. They’re the ones creating ideas, good and bad. I also can’t wait for when Activision officially splits with Bungie in September, because then they’d have to really try to keep their heads above water. If they fail, then I’ll have to find a seat and watch that ship sink. I won’t be surprised since Bungie has always seemed to have development issues, whether it’s the Halo games or Destiny. Anyway, since Bungie will be on its own, the developers can easily just say “screw this we’re out.” It’ll be their game, and they can do whatever they want, even let it fail. And don’t give me that “it should have been there in the first place” crap. A) Buying a game doesn’t entitle you to future content or changes, B) what’s the purpose of asking for changes if you’re still going to have a negative attitude about it, even if it was free, and C) you ultimately chose to buy the game, signaling that the game is worth more than your money. Otherwise you wouldn’t have bought it. You can say you didn’t get what you expected, but again you took that risk.

And you people wonder why we see you all as a bunch of moralf@gging pricks that don’t want a discussion. If you don’t want a discussion, then don’t come in here and start one.

  • They're not just a faceless company, they're people who are working hard to make a great game. You may not agree, but many of us think the game is great right now, so there's a reason to praise those hard-working individuals.

Then thank the workers. Praising Bungie as an entity is like saying Epic are great, despite the abuse of their staff. I mean there's hard working people there too but saying thank you Epic after all the revelations would seem unwise. The uproar isn't focused on the people doing the work, it's on the people who make the decisions.
