Titan's lack of utility in endgame PvE

Datto covers all the basic points I've got here, so if you want the TL;DR version, just watch the linked clip. I've been a Titan main since Destiny 1. I remember the old days when Titan bubbles were a must have for raids, and additional attributes of the Titans such as melting point and were constantly being utilized in Raids, Nightfalls and other PvE endgame activity. In the current state of D2, this is the complete opposite. I've seen multiple LFG posts explicitly state "No Titans", I've had people leave Reckoning and Raid groups on the basis that "There's just too many titans"/"Not enough Hunters/Warlocks". And honestly, who can blame them? Sure, Titans are on about the same level as Hunters and Warlocks in Crucible and are fairly decent at clearing ads, but in terms of high level play, what can the Titans offer that other classes can't do better? In high level activities, you need a support class, and for titans that means bubbles and banner shields. Titan bubbles were severely nerfed in D2 from the start for no real distinguishable reason, and sure, Helm of Saint 14 now gives what used to be Blessings of Light, and banner shield gives what used to be Weapons, but Warlock's well outclasses the both of them in every way imaginable. Not only are you virtually invincible inside of the well, but you can shoot out of it, and do additional damage inside of it. Furthermore, with the right exotic, you can have as many of them as you want, or have them reload your weapons. There are VERY limited instances in which the bubble or banner shield is actually used in D2, and even when they are used, they feel incredibly limited as all you can use a bubble for is peeking in and out for an overshield, and the banner shield can actually lower your fireteams total damage, because they effectively have 1 less member actually doing anything. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the well, and I love all these supers that I'm going to continue to talk about that belong to Warlocks and Hunters. I'm not suggesting that Hunters and Warlocks need nerfs, I'm saying that it's evident that Titans need some buffs. Moving on from the support role, you have the high damage role. Hunters have a celestial nighthawk golden gun, warlocks have their freshly buffed nova bomb, and titans have... Missile? In terms of outright damage, the missile actually does less damage than BLADE BARRAGE and is far more risky, and has no way of refunding super energy. Missile is the only non-roaming combative super for Titans, and it is easily one of the weakest in terms of damage across all clasess. Nova bomb, Golden Gun, Chaos Reach, hell, even freakin blade barrage all do more damage than Missile, which kinda makes the description of "METEORIC DAMAGE" sound even more ridiculous than it already is. Despite being heavy hitters in the lore, in the game Titans feel the weakest, and with no Shards/Skull equivelant for Titans, there's no way to pop off super after super like the other classes can. Again, in the raw damage dealing category, Titans need either a rework or some newer more powerful exotics (Inb4 "BuT whAt AbOuT oNe-eYEd" ) for PvE. Third, there is the debuff role. (I know this can kinda be lumped into support but whatever) With hammer strike, Titans can apply a 50% debuff to opponents. This is literally the only thing that Titans are used for nowadays in high level PvE activities, and it's incredibly limited. Not only is Hammer Strike on a long cool down, but it is as the name implies a melee attack and requires you to charge the boss, which will inevitably slam attack you and all the other shenanigans. This means that it's completely useless against bosses that can't be melee'd, and also has the added danger of walking up to a raid boss to say hi. Now, I know what you're thinking. "But Psych, Warlocks don't even have a debuff that's this useful, and the only other equivalent for Hunters is the Shattering Strike, which is also a melee attack." Yes. Yes O reader mine, that is correct. However, shattered strike is activated upon a crouched precision kill, and has no cool down at all. And if that weren't enough, the Hunter also turns invisible when it's active, which makes the act of walking up to a boss to say hi all the more easy. Titans can put on Hallowfire heart and an impact mod to reduce the cooldowns for the melee charge, but the Hunters literally can get theirs for virtually nothing so long as there are ads in the room, and have a much easier time applying the debuff. The one thing that Titans do that's still useful is easily outclassed by the Hunters. I personally don't feel like Hammer Strike needs a rework, it's still only 1 of 2 class based debuffs and is still incredibly useful, I just felt like pointing out how it's still a major aspect of high level play that's not best utilized by Titans. Lastly, we have the ad clearing role. The sanitation jobs of high level play. Don't misunderstand, ad clearing is important, and can be the difference between success and failure, especially in Raids like Last Wish, but here's the thing: Anyone can ad clear. Ad clearing isn't necessarily that hard, and is done mostly via either guns or roaming supers. But in PvE, there isn't that much of a difference in the quantity of ad clearing potential across classes. Hammers clear as well as Arcstriders which clear as well as Nova Warp. Saying that "Titans fill the ad clearing role" is kidding yourself. It's not a legitimate speciality, it's something you designate to newer players or to players who can't do anything else. Like strikers or defenders, sorry "Sentinels", in raids. Titans are still super fun to use, and are still very helpful in certain scenarios, but are just frankly outclassed by the other classes in almost every scenario. There is nothing that a Titan can do, that another class can't do better, and that's the problem.
