Destiny 2: What Could Have Been

I made a forum once and escaped out of it, little pissed but okay. Basically, I've played this game since day 1. I've been through all the bullshit with bugie, the engram exp throttling, the shitty first two expansions, even the horrid period when the player base was below 2k across all platforms. I love this game, I really do, and I want it to be good so badly. But the fact is, it isn't. It struggles everywhere it seems like and Everytime bungie does something "good" it feels like they screw their next update. My main point in this forum is going to be specifically pointed at PvP content though. Now, firstly, I've never been a big destiny PvP fan. I've always hated how it was always broken, or a certain playstyle or contingent of weapons would just reign supreme. First was Mida and camping in maps, now it's shotguns and these hand cannons. The peer to peer servers, the laggy servers overall, the fact that certain subclasses are simply better than other PvP focused subclasses.....it's all there. You can say "git gud" all you want, but you cannot deny that spectral blades and hunters are not currently running absolutely rampant in PvP. You see people doing well with Titans, or Warlocks, but at the end of the day, hunters are a staggering portion of the PvP player base. Shotguns are ridiculous atm. Most of the shotties I don't have a big problem with, and since the ohko range nerf, it's been fairly decent....for most. Dust rock blues needs a specific adjustment. The "god roll" is ridiculous for range, and it's difficult to hit a sliding opponent already. I don't think dust rock needs to be removed completely, but I do think either slideshot or accurized rounds needs to come off of the weapons roll table, or simply decrease it's natural range stat. Then there's the Pinnacle weapons....Luna's and Not Forgotten are simply ridiculous, but it's not because they're OP by themselves in my opinion. Those two hand cannons do something that hand cannons simply cannot do, which is decent range and ttk without really needing to play very skillfully. I say this because other hand cannons cannot keep up, they do not have the means to do so, nor can many other weapons in the game come loose to challenging them. I do not, I repeat, do not think these guns should be removed or changed, Because Pinnacle weapons are meant to be unique and powerful, but the level of difference between them and other PvP focused weapons is simply absurd. Supers run rampant with no real means of countering them. You could use a Jotunn, but it's an exotic and special ammo, plus it's not even 100% effective. You could use heavy, but that's a very situational idea. The fact is that, in current game, when you get pushed by a spectral blades or a Nova warp or even a fist of havoc, you don't have a high chance of winning the engagement. That is my main problem, not that supers are OP, but that you don't have a good chance of winning. You could be amazing at PvP, running you're God rolled Supremacy and recluse combo(for example), but get pushed by a spectral. And what can you do? Besides simply shoot and hope for a miracle, or simply run away. Most of the maps are pretty closed off so if you come face to face with a spectral blades, you can't really do much. You can't one shot headshot snipe them, you can't shotgun them, you can overpower them with sheer bullets(unless they're pretty far from you), you can't win. If you're team is there, you have a choice, yeah, but that mentality is killing the game in my opinion. You can do anything with a team, but that's not really fair, is it? Just roam the map in Clash, all six or four of ya, and teamshot? I don't know of a single person who plays PvP who thinks this is a fun method of play....again, I want supers to be strong yes, but maybe we could see so.e super armor reduction, or maybe a mod that does bonus damage against supers specifically? I've been grinding for the recluse these last two months with my clan because the gun is awesome and I want it, but I keep running into the absolute worst of teams using the most broken loadouts. I feel like I can't win, nothing I use works, and I always, ALWAYS, feel like I lost the match to one of these specific problems. This, the entire grind for recluse as it currently stands, or even PvP in d2 as a whole, does not feel "fun" to me. It does not feel "rewarding" or "engaging." And I've been seeing where even the top PvP streamers are beginning to feel this way, and that's coming from people who actually ENJOY the PvP. And during this literal crisis for the game, where broken loadouts run rampant and a major imbalance is in place between pve focused players and PvP focused players, what is bungies response? "We're looking into it." This is an absolute outrage, these exact problems have been in the game since launch, or forsaken in some cases. I know being a developer is hard work, but does it take 8 -blam!-ing months to figure out a retuning for your game? In eight months, an entire child can nearly be born, a player could easily switch to something else to play. Bungie, listen and listen very well, since you say you're listening to us so much: you're losing players over stupid stuff that could be fixed easily. And if it can't, tell us it can't, tell us you know it's a problem, tell us what you're talking about doing to fix it. Don't tell us "We're working on it" or some bull like that. And if you don't know what to do, just -blam!-ING TELL US THAT. Hell, disable the stuff until you HAVE a fix, don't leave it in there to ruin the experience of other players. Something HAS to be done bungie, this is NOT okay, and the vibe you give off makes it seem that you don't give a hoot about us, you're players, the guys and girls putting the money in your pocket. I know I don't have your answers, not do I have a lot of sway with anything, I'm just a guy who loves to play destiny. And my heart BLEEDS Because this game could be so good, but the systems in it are so bad. And before I forget again, why in the HELL is the revelry buff active in competitive???! Competitive is meant to be a serious mode where players can test their skills against other players! It's not designed for a group of Hunters to push middle of the map and just spam -blam!-ing skip grenades! This has absolutely destroyed my recluse grind and my will to play the game at all! And the worst part is that when I try to do it to them, my grrnades fail to work because of the peer to peer system, because of the lag. I know I am not the best crucible player, I know I'm not even on your list of interesting players, Bungie, but what I am is a man who has given you my time, money, and dedication. A man who has supported you through all of your turbulences. A man who is really -blam!-ing fed up with this game being like this. And I feel that a big part of the community feel the same way, that they feel strongly as I do about changes. Bungie, please, at least communicate effectively with us what you think. At this point, I think you could even set up live streams and just bounce ideas from the chat if you're out of ideas of your own. For -blam!-s sake, it feels 100% like you don't care. This is a heartfelt and angry message from an angry gamer, and I hope you see this. LordVic
