You sound depressed.
-
Yes and I can tell you it has nothing to do with video games.
-
Have you noticed how many on video game forums admit to being depressed......
-
No, no, and no. It has actually been found that video games can help to be used as an assistant to therapy in many situations. The hippocampus and reward pathways in the brain, including the amygdala, which can shrink due to depression, are hyper stimulated by video games, which can lend itself to an extremely helpful tool in dealing with depressive episodes. Much of the research done correlated video games to depression through a pure population study that showed that many people who play games become depressed. It has been theorized that this is incorrect, and that instead, many of the gaming community is depressed because the games can be used as a form of self-medication, even if the person in question does not realize. If someone were to make video games the center of their life, then they may become subjected to circumstantial depression, video games themselves do not cause depression, their lifestyle does. Video Games have been shown to have little to no impact on the physical aspects of depression, and you do not seem to have done your research.

Yes, yes yes Universities in England and Finland have published papers on the subject.
-
Yet you provide no actual point and just say they do.
-
Or you could use your own initiative and simply use Google. Research online is quick and easy. Try it.
-
Also just because papers are published does not mean they are true.
-
How about MRI scan results. Are you going to dismiss those as well?

So I read the papers, unfortunately the link drawn between depression and video games is a paraphrase. Rather they are stating that video game ADDICTION, like any addiction, will cause depression. This kid wasnt saying he is addicted, just that it is a release. Also, the studies that were done in Finland were not conclusive at all if you take into account the test population were specifically pulled from surveys where people had answered yes to video game overuse and depression. The published itself was discredited by more a few of the researchers linked in its source, for being biased, which isnt surprising as the funding for these, and many depression studies that find depression to be an uncontrollable psychological disorder, was funded by companies who produce antidepressants. Meaning they stood to gain from saying the patients had a medicinally treatable illness. The English study was not attempting to link playing video games (outside of addiction) to any depression. -
source?

Just Google it. If you cant manage that simple task let me know and I'll throw up links.

The burden of proof falls upon you if you gotta tell someone to just google it then you're most likely just full of shit
