Synthoceps + new sunbreaker super = 2x celestial nighthawk damage.
Doesnt need a buff.

Editado por SpamTheDamage: 10/5/2018 9:45:53 PMThat’s a very specific build, and you need roaring flames and biotic enhancements active. Also, this is specific to the code of the devastator, not talking about other classes.
-
I was talking about code of the devastator and so was the poster.
-
I don’t think it needs a buff, but it could use some changes. Also, it shouldn’t be compared to other classes, especially not a ranged super, like your comparison of it to nighthawk.
-
I said it did 2x the damage of celestial nighthawk with that setup. I am not comparing the supers. Only the numbers of the highest damage hunter super vs a titan super that everyone says is bad.
-
Pve its fine except for the tornadoes knocking up certain enemies but in pvp its atrocious
-
I'd say it does, slightly. More a tune up to increase viability
-
It is already more viable than celestial nighthawk. Wich makes it more viable than 6 hunter subclas tree's that specialise in damage. By the calculations they made Celestial does 51.000 and the burning maul slams do 117.000 in total with synthoceps...without counting the burn. So if burning mau needs a buff ..then so do 6 of the hunter subclasses.
-
That's only through a 3 stack Roaring Flames and Synthoceps Biotic Enhancements activated. It does horribly on it's own for DPS. And in PvP, this doesn't help Burning Maul's horrible aerial combat.
-
You know what else has horrible air combat. Arcstrider....all 3 of them (because they removed the air attack)....and tether.....and spectral blades. That is 6 out of 9 hunter supers with bad air combat. (And 4 of them are melee supers ) Titan only has 1 that is bad in air.
-
Editado por autistic_lion22: 10/5/2018 2:53:35 AMYou can't even count Tether. By that logic, I could say WoD has horrible aerial combat. Spectral Blades and Arcstrider, unlike Burning Maul, can one shot somebody in air. Burning Maul takes two spins to kill someone. Spectral Blades and Arcstrider also have far better lunge even in the air.
-
WoD isnt an attack super. Tether shoots a ranged projectile. And spectral blades and arcstrider do not have an air lunge...they just attack what is in front of them...if you are off by a CM you wont hit anything... With spectral blades you can even miss if you are 100% on target.
-
I'm not denying that Spectral Blades is garbage, but we're not gonna sit here and pretend Burning Maul is a good super. The neutral game is solid, but that doesn't compensate for the lackluster super. The Burning Maul lights don't have good mobility like the other close ranged supers do. The Burning Maul lights also take up too much super energy to actually be picked over slams, which take less. The lights don't do that much damage, as they can't even one shot a normal crucible guardian, or a red health acolyte. The super on it's own without the use of exotics or Roaring Flames is too lacking in damage for PvE. Even though it's a super. The tornadoes send majors flying up, even though that actually makes no sense. It should funnel them, as it's a tornado.
-
But tether isn't an attack super either. It is meant for crowd control. (Not necessarily to kill said crowd) it surpresses, weakens, and generates a lot of orbs. Its meant for support.
-
The concern is that Burning Maul has lackluster tracking (misses a lot), little to no air game, and puts you at risk (whereas Nighthawk is from a safe range) Also, that only is in the situation Synthoceps activates in. Under which most Titan supers become top tier. And it definitely isn't better than 6 Hunter Subclasses overall. It's great in that single situation. Otherwise the buff is nonexistent.
