A good half of Earth was completely consumed by... something. Elsie stood up. [i]”Ana.”[/i] Ana kept staring at the blackening orb, growing more and more sinister by the second. [i]”Ana!”[/i] Ana shot up, startled. [i]”Yes, what do you want?”[/i] Elsie gestured towards the massive, black diamond, housing humanity’s last hope. [i]”I need you to get him to fire up everything. He doesn’t seem to realize the threat yet.”[/i] [i]”But why? It hasn’t reached Mars y-“[/i] And was cut short by a slap on her cheek. [i]Rasputin is the savior of humanity Ana. That’s why he was created. Not to protect us...”[/i] Elsie pointed at the blackened orb that used to be Earth. [i]”But to protect them.”[/i] Ana began jogging towards the Warmind, understanding the message. If Elsie was that serious, that meant it was serious. She went up through the massive doors, and walked into the core room. Rasputin was silent. [i]”Rasputin? Are you okay?”[/i] She held her hand over the console. Nothing. [i]”Rasputin. I don’t know what’s going on down there, but I need you to blast that black stuff off of Earth.”[/i] Nothing. [i]”Some human casualties are acceptable. It’s for the best.”[/i] Rasputin lit up alarmingly, brighter than before. You could hear the sound of weapons and countermeasures powering up for miles. CARRHAE BLACK and WHITE established. YUGA, FENRIR HEART, VOLUPSA, DVALIN’S FORGE. LOKI’S CROWN. Ana ran outside to watch the fireworks. DVALIN’S FORGE was the first countermeasure to fire up. Flashes of orange light began to pierce through the black orb, as if the humans were waiting. They died out instantly. Next was YUGA and VOLUPSA. Red beams from the countless Warsats began to rain down massive missiles from above. They faded out. FENRIR’S HEART fired instantly, as if it was a moment of fear. A massive plume erupted from the side of the Earth, the size of a small moon. An instant of Earth had returned, exposing a tiny view of the Traveler. Then there was hesitation. In that moment, the black smog began to cover the deposit of exposed land, and LOKI’S CROWN went off, firing a perfect laser straight at the Traveler. It was too slow. The area was promptly closed again. Ana stood up in alarm. If none of his weapons worked, then- Ana rushed back inside. Elsie was the only other to make it back to the front. A massive creature then slammed into the staff and Bray family still outside. SIBERIAN ENTROPY was activated. MIDNIGHT EXIGENT was activated. A single hand stretched out from beyond the ice.
