Legacy activities for earning year 1 items

Old Vanguard gear, Crucible gear, armor and weapons from Faction Rallies and Iron Banner, Trials, Ikora's Meditations, all of these things vanishing from the game seems like a huge shame. Even some of the eververse armor disappearing is a little disheartening. What about all the potential players who haven't even bought the game yet? What about the players who are only just starting to play it in preparation for Forsaken, but don't have enough time left to get everything? I propose Legacy activities, things we can participate in that involve activities from past content. Participating in Crucible matches using the Year 1 loadout system to obtain Year 1 weapons and armor, participating in old strikes with difficult modifiers to obtain weapons like Nameless Midnight, The Main Ingredient, and Nightshade, with their Year 1 fixed rolls. For events like Faction Rally and Iron Banner, they could have Legacy bounties, which would award otherwise retired armor and/or weapons as rewards. In-game items should always be available for those willing to earn them, and I think that this would be a good way of ensuring year 1 items can still be obtained while allowing space to be freed up for new gear in year 2.

  • For real. I’m still missing some ikora stuff. With her missions being weekly there is not enough time to left to farm for drops. Players was told way to late about the Y1 stuff just being erased from the game. Content should never be removed. Moved to say like the farm. But never just removed from the game.

  • I agree and that is why Destiny is finally dead to me. I've put up with gear resets for too long since the D1 beta. Bungie will never get it that invalidating gear and replacing content is killing the game... They just don't get it.
