Dear Guardian,
This is extremely fascinating. I will pass this along to the few mentors I know to see if they can get this looked at, but for now I have a few questions:
1. Does this only happen on your Hunter, or does this occur across multiple characters?
2. You said you had Future War Cult tokens before this rally started. Were they not cleared from your inventory during the last victory week's conclusion, or did this happen upon first completing a rally objective?
3. Are you able to provide video evidence? I have never seen this before and it is not supposed to be possible so I would like to see it for myself and I am sure others would as well.
4. Does the gear you are wearing affect the rate of renown for both factions? By this, I mean does wearing a full set of Dead Orbit gear and completing a Heroic Public Event grand you four renown for just Dead Orbit or both factions?
5. Are you able to earn faction ornaments for both factions?
The last two are not that important to answer, but the first three are a must. Please get back to me a soon as you can.
[b]EDIT: After looking into this more, Bungie is aware of the issue as it was also present in the last faction rally this season. There are currently no fixes available just yet from what I was able to find[/b].
Anyone else who is experiencing this issue is encouraged to voice the problem and if you can do it in the same place, it would be appreciated.

I'm having this issue as well. I thought it was just a tweak to the way faction rallies worked, and didn't realize it was a bug until I tried to find anything explaining exactly how it worked. Anyway: 1. I was pledged to DO from previous rallies through my hunter, and when I logged in this week I was able to pledge to FWC on my titan. Now, both my hunter and titan are pledged to both. 2. I don't think I had any tokens from a previous rally. Not 100% sure though. 3. Please find attached a video where you can see that I have two faction modifiers active, and 4 renown for both factions, and receive DO tokens from a chest. 4. I put on the FWC set and started getting extra renown for both factions. The renown for both factions is always the same. 5. Yes. Gotta say for a known issue there is basically zero visibility on this. I had to click though several "support" pages with no mention of this before I was dumped in this forum, and at no point was I given an opportunity to just open a ticket.

Happening to me as well, pledged fwc with do from last rally, if I wear full do set (as I don’t have fwc helm yet) it gives 4 renown for both, and with this glitch it prevents me from getting sun shot catalyst due to lack of getting tokens, as I don’t have 12hrs a day to farm this, which at this point I would need

I am having this problem too, I pledged to NM this time and DO last. It happens on all characters regardless of changing armour sets. It seems to be pot luck what I get tokens for, in some cases I may get tokens for just one or the other and other times I can get varying amounts of each. I have been able to finish an ornament for DO and hand in tokens to them also. Not a chance that I’ll be able to finish NM now as don’t have time to spend twice as long to farm tokens! I only have a picture showing renown for both, I haven’t recorded any video, no idea how to share the picture here though sorry.

Having the same issue only I was pledged to DO in the past and now when I pledged to NM I'm also pledged to DO. On public events and lost sectors I get tokens and renown for both, but on daily rewards and strike/crucible completion it's a toss up on when faction it will drop for.

Sorry to ask this, but would you please answer the above questions to the best of your ability? It may help find the root cause of the problem

I also have the same problem. It seems to be with FWC because they are my first faction. This is the 2nd faction rally and I'm still stuck earning FWC tokens and not DO tokens. I have posted a video documenting it and will link it below. I'm not sure how to get video evidence. I have clips of it, but Xbox One has been giving me trouble uploading them to OneDrive. Here are some quick answers to the ones I know: 1) I'm gonna check this in a few minutes. 2) Yeah, the FWC coins I had were left over from when I pledged last rally. I got to rank 50 in FWC and got everything possible, so I decided to save my remaining 4 tokens for season 4. 4) By wearing my full set of Dead Orbit gear, I do gain extra renown for BOTH factions. 5) I cannot determine this, since I have all of the ornaments for FWC from last faction rally.

Please do and provide as much evidence as possible. To be frank, this should not even be possible as, similar to raid chest keys, the faction tokens were supposed to expire and delete themselves upon the completion of faction rally victory week (as per my understanding from the first season's rallies). I do not work for the company, however, so there may be something else afoot that they may know. I forwarded this to a few mentors and one of the BNGHelp accounts, so hopefully they will get back to you. I just want to help facilitate everything and learn what happened for myself. I hope you do not mind.

That's fine. I do hope someone at Bungie sees this though. For the past half hour or so all I get is FWC tokens now, which is a pain. BTW, I got the video! I managed to share it from Xbox One to Twitter, here's a link: https://twitter.com/i/status/1019475220745240576 It shows my emblem and armor as proof that I'm pledged to DO, shows me getting both factions' tokens during an enemy supply event, and shows the interlapping sigils on my hunter's back.
