I see your points, fair play. These were complaints, but they were complaints from all the snowflakes out there. These are the things that made D1 competitive and unique....and fun.
These were things that none of the hardcore base complained about, I was one of them, and I’m just an average player who enjoyed the unique gameplay of an MMO-Looter-shooter-ability shooter. Bungie listed to the wrong crowd, now they’re paying for it, and so are we. And I don’t even play D2 anymore.
I think it was Destin Legary from Fireteam chat who said it best, D1 was a hangout for friends, and now it’s been taken away (I’m paraphrasing). That’s the biggest problem, I think. Unfortunately I think that also means D2s bones are bad.

And the heart of the problem is, too many put on a pedestal the very people who helped steer the game towards this. One of your first things to mention were the streamers, I'm just trying to point out that the d2 we got gameplay-wise was the exact thing they all wanted d1 to be by the end. I'm glad they are gone and I hope the series can recover now that they've left.
