After all, it does feel similar to Uplink from COD but better. And I did enjoy Rift in D1.
I do have a suggestion on how to rework it and make it work in D2 (It may sound a little similar to Uplink but it can work here as well). Not too much details. If anyone else have other suggestions as well, feel free to add on.
-Rift can be revamped into a best of 5 game mode.
-Each round Guardians will have limited amount of time to successfully dunk charge at opposing team's base.
-Instead of grabbing a spark, Guardians will grab an Solar charge (like in the Arms Dealer strike) located at the choke point/central area of the map.
-Guardians that are holding the Charge will be unarmed. They can only melee with charge and throw grenades.
-Charge can be dropped but will be on timer. Guardians from both teams will be able to pick up charge.
-Guardian holding the charge can drop it by activating their Super, Class Ability (Hunter Dodge, Warlock Rift, and Titan Barrier), or switching to their weapon.
-When Charge timer reaches the end, the Charge will dissipate and return to its original position. A 10 second cool-down will be activated. After cool-down, charge will be available for pick up.
-When the team A successfully dunks the charge at team B's base, the round will end.
-The first team to get 3 dunks wins.
