So I've thought for awhile they are botching Destiny on purpose.

Think about it. They left Microsoft for the same reason they have with activision. All the stuff they are doing no company in their right mind would do. Theres no way this isnt on purpose like to say get out of a contract. They change it in ways they must have known we wouldnt want. They ruin pvp and dont even attempt to fix it. Their employees like Deej obviously on stream dont even play or know anything about the game. They have to put out content based from comtract but what if it doesnt sell anymore or nearly enough...

  • Theres no way any developer would go out of their way to make a bad game on purpose. They will work to fix things and im sure PvP is on the list but for some reason people on these forums think it should only take a week to fix when thats just not the case.

    • It's like that movie The Producers. They think they can make more money from a flop than they can with a hit lol

    • D2 isn’t/wasn’t botched on purpose. 3 studios collectively came together and formulated a plan to maximize profit by creating the least amount of content possible. The plan was successful as D2 generated 50% more sales across all platforms at launch when compared to D1. Activision CEO publicly stated that by having 3 studios work on D2 players would receive more content at increased intervals. As of right now this is not the case. Why not you wonder? Well. Bungie went back to Activision and renegotiated the deal to provide content claiming that “it was too hard” given the engine and subsequent coding required. Right now the other two studios are patiently waiting for Activision to take total control of the Destiny franchise and give them the opportunity to have the Destiny franchise reach its potential. Unfortunately for them, the cash grab that is D2 has Destiny now one of Activision’s $1Billion dollar franchises. Activision look at the numbers, like the profit margin when compared to the expense so have told Bungie “great job” Until such time that Destiny fails to produce revenue in accordance with Activision’s revenue forecasts there will be no change occurring whatsoever.

        • I've thought this also, there are several examples of musicians doing same thing to get through contract. Example- linkin park, after the first 2( I believe) cd drops, they didn't like where the contract was taking them. They had to use less rapping etc. per the wishes of their masters. Their 3rd was an ok cd but any fan could tell they were off their normal path. As I heard it( could b wrong on extent or certain facts) , they went into a studio, and in 1 weekend made 3 CDs that fulfilled contract( they all basically flopped outside of some singles on each) After that they cane out with a solid cd etc. then of course tragedy. Either way they did it, so it's not so far fetched. D2 is fuuking bizarro world compared to D1.

        • Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest; the best part is they’re making millions off it from sales and eververse so doubt activision will care 👍🏼
