If You're Serious about Communication Bungie

First: It was GREAT to hear from Bungie! Regardless of the content, this needs to continue! And it needs to happen with extreme frequency, and in a variety of ways! I know you guys and gals at Bungie HATE when people bring up Warframe or Digital Extremes and compare to Destiny or Bungie, but DE's communication with their community is exceptional! The two community managers host a WEEKLY LIVESTREAM where they play the game, give out awards for Fan Art, host contests, and answer a few questions from viewers. The developers also host a "Devstream" every other Friday where they give sneak peaks, announce contests, give out awards, cover topics of interest, answer player questions, and interview various employees at DE so the players get to actually know the employees there. DE has a pretty personal relationship with their player base. I've talked directly with several of the developers. There are a bunch of DE employees on the forums every week posting content, answering questions, sharing in the excitement. I feel like this makes the community much more supportive of Digital Extremes. It makes me fine with spending money on optional cosmetics in Warframe (which I've never done in Destiny). Players come to DE's defense when people harp on their game design, even when it's terrible (Example: PvP is horrible and fishing in PoE is boring, but players are fine with it). These forums are mostly a horrible place. The majority of posts are very anti-Destiny 2 and anti-Bungie. I honestly think you at Bungie can change that by simply being active in the community. After-all, you started this community, you should be an active participant in it! Get more than just the three (Cozmo, Deej, dmg04) community managers here in the forums. If there's feedback on how something sounds in the game, instead of having dmg04 say he'll "make sure the developers see it" why not get the developer working on sounds directly in the thread? If there's feedback on a gun being underpowered, why not have the Sandbox guys in the thread talking about it, collecting ideas and sharing what's in development? Communication doesn't HAVE to be so formal all the time. If our feedback means so much, you need to show us that you actually hear it. Yes, you've now made 2 blog posts addressing community feedback about Destiny 2, but you only covered a small portion of the feedback here. Do you hear the rest of our feedback? If you disagree with feedback, tell us and say why you disagree. If you're taking our suggestions into consideration, then be open about it. Let the various developers in charge of different aspects of the game take part in the discussion. TL;DR: Bungie, you need to communicate MUCH MUCH MUCH more, and get more than just the community managers in on the conversation.
