Bad Stuttering After Hotfix

CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: GTX 1070 (founders edition if that matters)
RAM: 36GB
GPU Driver Version: 388.31
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro

Destination/Activity: Anywhere
Description: Had no problems with stuttering or FPS drops (was running on high settings) until hotfix came out then ended up with serious stuttering issues. FPS counter says there's no drop in framerate but the game stops and starts--at first it's bad but not *unplayable* but gets worse over time until it's virtually unplayable. I can keep it at bay for a little bit longer by dropping to low settings and putting Vsync on at 30fps but like, I might as well play on console if I'm going to do that.
I downloaded and did a clean install of the new drivers, everything is up to date but there's been no difference.
Also, if this matters: I occasionally get garbled sound when it stutters too.

I have the same issue. I found something that helped A LITTLE, but after an hour or so of play it comes back. Go to the folder on your hard drive that contains Destiny 2, find the file "destiny2" it'll have the bungie logo and right click on that. Go to the compatibility tab, and at the bottom check "Disable fullscreen optimizations". As I said, it doesn't fix the problem, but it certainly helped to delay the stuttering. On top of the game stuttering terribly, my gpu usage is way too low (50-75%). The only way I can get 99% is to crank render resolution to 150% or so. I've seen framerates in the 80s and my gpu usage be at 60%. That's unacceptable. I certainly hope more people are vocal about this so it hopefully gets fixed. Specs: i7-5820k Strix 1080 a bunch of ram

3 Respuestasok so I didn't fix it exactly but I did improve it. I disabled the GeForce Experience overlay that I didn't realize had been enabled (I really ought to delete the thing) Improved performance somewhat but still get hitching/stuttering after a little while of play though after about 1&1/2 hours it never dropped down to the unplayable levels I had earlier. Still really wanna have this fixed completely but at least I can play now.
