Activity monitor, more permissions, nicknames, clan colors, a MOTD, Pinned messages, better notifications

With the Launch of Destiny 2, we as a community have seen a monumental change to the Clan system a move many of us from the community can agree on was a change for the better, now Clans are more relevant than ever. However, with the new Clan system, there are a few pitfalls, I find it difficult sometimes to communicate my goals as a founder. TL;DR: Activity monitor, more permissions, nicknames, clan colors, a MOTD, Pinned messages, better notifications 1.p) Inactivity: There is currently no way on bungie.net to tell if a Clan member has been inactive. A founder may find himself or herself having a problem where they have 100 Clan members, and 25 of them either do not play anymore or haven't played in some time. The only way to honestly find out is to go through each member whether it be on Xbox live, PlayStation network or battle.net and check the last time they have played destiny 2. And frankly, most of us do not have the patience or time to complete that. 1.s) A possible solution to this problem is to incorporate some activity sensor, the founder and admins would access to determine if a player has been inactive for too long. As well as give the option to ignore activity that is less than five minutes or at least participating in a game inside destiny 2. And moving on from that adding notifications to this system. 2.p) Roles and permissions: There are currently only four roles, Founder, Admin, Member, and Beginner (the last of which is optional for a Clan). Going from admin to member is too harsh, as there is no incentive to work hard in a group. Now the difference a founder can make between a beginner and a member is not to allow beginners Guided Games access, this is incredibly foolish, giving founders the ability to restrict an improvement made upon Destiny 2 2.s) Solutions for these problems are simple to add more roles or at the very least an option to add more, and give them decent names, for example, Vanguard or guardian or let us name them. Introduce a moderator, someone who can delete messages if they either contain spoilers profanity (if your Clan doesn't allow it) and also to breach the gap between admin and member. For the permissions problem give us founders more tools and more permissions to hand out. A nickname permission would be fantastic permission. Aswell enable us to sort the extremely active members into vanguard and the not as so immensely but still very active members into guardian roles and permissions for each to have their separate channels. And on the note of channels why cap the number of channels at five? allowing us to have more than that would make it easier to engage our smaller communities into the game. 3.p) Rewards of active players: this last problem ties the previous two together, in that there is no incentive for members to be engaged in a Clan, one could log on every week to collect the rewards and log off without genuinely being active. 3.s) When I talk about rewards I do not mean more engrams at Hawthorn, what I am talking about is maybe an emblem that shows the number of weeks active in the Clan or perhaps an effect on bungie.net. At the very least the rewards that I am talking about are rewards handed out by the founder (i.e., promotions, access to specialized channels). Possibly at the very most for the incredibly dedicated a unique emblem stating the season, the player was active the most or a shader with the Clans' colors or an aura. 4) Tools: Devices or tools that need to be added to make the Clan experience more engaging, some of them I mentioned and will restate here: 4.1) activity sensor: to tell is people are inactive in the Clan 4.2) more permissions: for founders to reward players 4.3) nicknames: to change your name's appearance solely in the Clan 4.4) Clan color's: do decorate you Clan in game and out as well as give it some personality 4.5) MOTD: Allow founders and admins to implement a message of the day that can be seen by all in the clan on a banner no matter what channel you are in 4.5.2) Pinned messages: Messages that can be pinned under the MOTD by an admin or founder that can be seen by all in the Clan 4.5.3) Rules tab: this can go with pinned messages or something where I can state the rules clear to all my members who should have quick and easy access to it 4.6) Better notifications: notifications are limited to sluggish and broken push notifications on the phone, it would be beneficial for in-game push notifications, or even an in-game overlay on the clan tab would be fantastic. With the Clan system overhaul, Clans are much more prominent in the game. However, the system still feels barebones and almost empty as there is a void in which personality is missing. It would be excellent if I can organize active members to have events on specific days, set fireteams with cool names with roles. Decorate the Clan page with our Clan colors. Dawn our Clan colors as a shader in destiny 2. Small, quality of life improvements that should be implemented to the Clan system with make Destiny 2's Clan system feel much more fun, engaging and much more worth the time investing into one. Sorry for the long post, and thank you to the people who took the time and read through this all. I tried to make a post that didn't bash Destiny 2, all I want to do is provide its Clan system with some constructive feedback from a founder of 3 Clans 2 of which are around 100 members each. The new Clan system is good and all, but with these improvements, it could take Destiny 2 and its Clans to a whole new level. I will be updating this list with more and more ideas as they come. TL;DR: Activity monitor, more permissions, nicknames, clan colors, a MOTD, Pinned messages, better notifications And again thank you for your time. -Pie513
