Protectors of Light Ch. 32: The Light Festival

I do not own any rights for the song or video. All rights belong to their respective owners. Two weeks after the Protectors' battle with Daggr, the City and Tower hosted what they called "the Light Festival"; a day designated for the celebration of the efforts of Guardians. Banners were flown at the Tower, and houses down in the City were decorated with vibrant colors. Once again, Angel and Logan walked through the streets and looked at all the festivities; even Alice and Merlin flew side-by-side, swaying to the beat of songs. Various smells of foods being grilled or barbecued lingered in the air, music played on every block, and children ran around and pretended to be Guardians. Angel could not help but smile. Her first month as a Guardian had been filled with tragedy, memories, and adventure, but this was what she fought to protect; she was proud of herself for it. Several children ran in and out of a Ward of Dawn conjured by a nearby Guardian. They pretended to be Fallen invading the City, as they did only a year ago. Logan looked down an alleyway to see more kids playing with sticks; then he had an idea. "Hey kids," he said as he summoned a Void portal. "Want to visit the Tower?" The childrens' faces lit up with excitement. They stepped through and found themselves on the Tower plaza. There, Commander Zavala and Ikora told stories of wonder about a single, legendary Guardian that had pulled off incredible feats... But, all the children ran to the hunter, Cayde-6, who was making balloon dregs. "Hey look!" Cried a robotic voice. "It's the Protectors of the City!" Soon, the civilians and Guardians alike clapped and cheered for Angel and Logan. Even Zavala clapped for the couple. The titaness blushed from the attention, but smiled. "Is it true you have angels' wings?" A young child asked as she stared up at Angel. The titaness looked to Logan. "You should do it," Logan replied with a grin. Angel jumped off the Tower and spread her newly made wings and flew over the City. Logan listened to the kids 'ooh' and 'ah' at the display. Angel made a lap around the Traveler, then returned to the Tower. The children were ecstatic. Later that night, Angel and Logan returned to the City and slowly danced under the Traveler. Angel laid her head against Logan as she listened to the music. The silence was soothing to her. "I always had hope for a brighter day. You helped me find that day," Logan said softly. Angel did not know what else to say, so she remained silent as they enjoyed the evening air. Cayrik, who had been enjoying the Light Festival throughout the day, saw the two dancing and smiled. He heard the stories of a "Guardian Angel" that had been going around the City and saving people, and he knew that those stories referred to Angel Perkins. Instead, he walked through the night until he was in an open field. He knelt down by three tombstones--one being shaped like an angel--and placed flowers down. "You can stop praying now, old friend... Your little Angel found her wings..." The three stones read Fenyor Llewellyn, Juno Llewellyn, and Angel Perkins respectively.
The Light Festival was a Guardian holiday originally creates by FJFSOM656. I decided to bring it back to show that I would not have made it this far into the Paradox Universe without his inspiration.
