Issue logging into bungie.net and using connected apps: invisible authentication error?
I am playing on a Xbox One with a xbox live account. I tried the beta out on PC with this bungie.net account (but I didn't end up getting it for PC). This post got long, but I wanted to be clear with my story. I can't find anywhere else to get help for this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm running into a error with no code attached. The error is pretty straight-forward: I have attempted to link a two separate inventory third-party apps, but they can't get connected to my account. Though both successfully were granted permission (and thus can be "revoked" said permission in my account), they simply are not able to actually connect to my account. In a similar fashion when I login on bungie.net I see a flash of a authentication window (literally a flash -- lasts only 2-3 seconds before disappearing) stating there was an authentication error and that my login won't be completed. Futhermore, in-game, the "Clan" screen says there's a problem with the Clan server (though I can't find any evidence besides that message for that to be the case for anyone else?).
Now, I can't see under the hood, but if I was going to take a stab in the dark, I would say that something behind-the-scenes has gotten my bungie.net account all tangled up -- I'm able to login into the game and I am able to login on the website and (bizarrely) the apps are authenticated, but it's only the clan page in-game and the API that's the issue so far.
I did play Destiny 1 on PS3 and I think this was the account I used to play that, but I didn't try and port my account (if that's even possible). It asked me for my PSN account information earlier, but once I realized I wasn't doing anything with that account anymore I unlinked that account.
So... yeah, I'd like to be able to use the API but nothing seems to be helping it along. Thanks for any help!
p.s. Already tried the display on public profile fix. I've done it 3 or 4 times, 2-3 hours between just to be sure, and the problem persists
