Thank you Bungie
This is a long read so ya
Dear Bungie, I just wanted to say... thank you. For making such a great game. This game has held my attention for all 3 years of it coming out. I started out my first Halo game that I played was Halo Recon aka Halo ODST just because I had just gotten an Xbox and wanted to get a Halo game. Now at the time I didn't have Xbox live to do anything but I made do. Every week my friend would come over so we could play Halo ODST sometimes we would complete many missions in a row other times we just wandered through the city. All the time my friend explained to me the lore behind Halo and what happened. Then that next week I finally opened up the case to the game again and before me was the Halo multiplayer disk. At that moment I knew that I had to get Xbox live some way or another. So I begged my parents but they at first said no but instantly said that I could help them work and get paid a little bit to buy it myself. So that is what I did. I saved up about $60 to buy Xbox live. Only that just 12 months Xbox live. So I kept playing with my friend this time we could play online and fight other people. And guess what we got our butt handed to us. But that was fine we eventually "Got good" in fighting the enemies and we had a great time. Then something crazy happened... can you guess? Halo Reach Beta came out. Now this was strange because I never expected to play anything else on that Halo ODST disk but sure enough it came out. Something else that I learned it required about 7 gigabytes. So I got it and played the crap out of it because you know basically a free game. I told my friend all about it and he instantly wanted to come over to play it so thats what we did. Then finally the Beta ended much to our grief but it told us the release date of it. So because I really wanted it I asked my parents if I could work for them so I could buy it. They let me work with them and so I had enough to buy it. Then I went with my parents to buy it but I learned that it was not quite out. But the guy behind the counter said we could preorder it and that is what we did got it preordered and that was that. In between the wait of the preorder my friend and I both started to get very good at the Halo 3 multiplayer. So good that we went into multiplayer and consistently getting first and second each. Now Halo Reach came out and my speakers were chattering with voices of other people. And I knew that I needed to get a mic at that moment. So I looked around my house for anything that I could talk through and I did it was a really crappy mic but it worked. I was invited to many custom games playing zombie maps and gamemodes. It was a great time. Then I received my first bit of hate mail. I remember it just saying "You suck". That was it but it was after a game where I only went after one guy the entire game if there were 3 guys next to each other I picked out that guy. So Halo Reach came out and I played that with my friend and friends over Xbox live. Played many years of Halo Reach and other games like Call of Duty. We gamed more and more and then I was able to get some more real life friends to play Xbox. We at one point had 12 people online to play against each other it was great. At the time I had a clan tag next to my name like everyone but eventually everyone changed it to the one I was using. So that was cool. Then we all parted ways during our 6th grade graduation. That was sad. But no matter we occasionally played Halo but that was it. Then Minecraft came to the Xbox and it was there I made some of my best friends over Xbox there. We all figured out that we all were within 1-2 years older or younger than each other. So we finally met up at a park. Plain and simple as that. It was kinda funny because I didn't expect the voices of some people to be what was attached to their face. And because we met that day and bonded over a game like Minecraft we knew that we would be great friends. Now for a fast chain of events Halo 4 came out We beat Halo 4 on normal We beat it on legendary We all achieved max level in the multiplayer. And that's it. Then... Destiny... Was... Announced... and I was able to get most of my friends to get it. We got it. We played the beta We raided Sepiks Prime. We went to the moon. And things were looking up. Then Destiny came out. So it was a race to get to the highest level we all had zero experience with MMO's and looter shooters and that is what Destiny was. When we all finished the main story we came across this strange guy in the tower named Xur. Who was this guy? Why was he here? All we knew that he was selling crazy looking gear and we all said we would all buy something from him on Sunday but then he was gone. Just like that. Disappeared without a trace. So we all played more and more the next week we all knew what we needed to do check around the tower each day and find any secrets. Like this xur guy but every Friday he showed up. So what did we do? We bought the armor from him not knowing that he was selling the best gun in the game. So... we kept playing and eventually we all made level 26 ish then I was invited to play a game with somebody I didn't know who it was but I joined up and they asked if I wanted to do the raid. I had no idea what they were talking about. This "raid" what was it about why are we doing this WHY AM I DIEING SO FAST. But it was a normal raid so it didn't matter. After a completing a part I received... the raid boots. Now that may seem strange but I just knew I had to use them and start leveling them up. Now we made it to the Templar and they said "Skull switch from void to solar" I had no idea what they were talking about. I eventually learned that they were talking about my subclass I didn't even know about a second subclass. Well until then so we pushed the templar off the cliff. Because it was the easiest way to kill him. And well you all know the rest of the VoG we eventually killed the big glass dude Aka Atheon. I never teleported through interestingly enough. But that was fine I got the Vision of Confluence scout rifle. Now a bit more rapid fire events. Queens wrath event sometime Got the rest of my team to play the VoG. Got my second subclass leveled up. Learned of self res glitch to have basically infinite super. Played the hardmode of the raid. Got Vex Mythoclast Got level 30 Then Dark Below came out. Increase the level cap. Went into the raid to look around in it because it can be started solo. Got a G-horn from a chest in the maze. Got another one from Crucible. Got another one from the Nightfall. Had one on each character. Killed Crota. *By pulling the plug on him* House of wolves came out. Completed the story of that. Killed Skolas on solar burn week. Then Trials of Osiris came out. Didn't go flawless week one. Learned that Thorn was best gun Learned that Red Death was even better. Went flawless a couple times in year 1 End of year 1 Destiny Destiny TTK Got an Xbox one to play it. Then rest of friends got a Xbox one. Did main story got to a level to do raid. Then... killed Oryx. Now at near max level we went flawless in Trials many times. During a card we had a loss and it put us against a team who also had a loss. Both messages sent at same time. "Free win 4 you" so we made a party and invited them to it they joined. And we decided to have a 360 no scope challenge whoever lands the first kill will win the match. My friend eventually got the kill and we just stayed in the party. We became great friends. So we eventually merged our friends list together and created a Clan. A great clan. But not the one I am in now. That comes later. We play some more and then BOOM . Rise of Iron released. Same story as above. Play through Story and beat raid. But this time there was a secret in the raid. Datto put together a list of all the accounts on how to get the Outbreak Prime. We were definitely not the first group to get it but not the last. We got it then on Friday in Trials of Osiris we went Flawless so easily. Got to max light... ... You get the idea if you read this far. Then one day during school the Army came by on regular recruiting this time I actually read up what jobs were available and I saw 15W Unmanned vehicle operator. So I said I wanted to talk with them about joining up. So after a process that took multiple weeks I sworn in to join the Army now I still needed to complete high school but I did with flying colors. What I'm saying is this Thank you Bungie... for making such great games that I can look back at and smile. I will be leaving on the 10th of July just 3 days away. Now today I will be doing everything. From all the raids to as many in game missions as I can and if possible Try to go flawless in Trials of Osiris one last time. By the time Basic Training ends D2 will have come out I have preordered it but will not myself play the beta I have a friend who will be doing that. Just thank you for the memories, ~Private Grinning Skull
