I've played since the first alpha. I still play because despite the people who think that getting that new shiny piece of loot is the only thing that matters, the game is actually fun to play. It's even more fun when you have friends to play with. The gunplay is some of the best I've experienced and the art direction/music is top tier. Do I need to take a hiatus from it once in a while? Of course, I've taken a break for a month or more after each expansion but i always come back because it's a game I know I can have fun with. I'm sure there are lots of people who played/play WoW or other MMO's and RPG's that feel the same way.
