No, because not all blacks here were slaves. Not all whites here were responsible for taking the ones who were over. No we should not give them free college BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO BUILT THIS COUNTRY. Who settled Pennsylvania and Texas? Germans. Who built the railroad system and did most of the work in the 1800s in the north and west? Chinese and Irish. Who settled at Jamestown, creating the first English colony here? English. Who built those skyscrapers in New York? Not slaves, white AND black WORKERS. So should all of us get free college too because we built the country just like the people you assume built the country?
And btw, a majority of the slaves for a majority of the years only worked on and built plantations in the south, which yes, boosted southern economy, however didn't do anything for the industrial north, that was built by free people. So nice try Cellar, maybe think intelligently like the physics professor you're supposed to be rather then a racist jerk who deprives other minorities and races of college and money because we need to pay taxes to send one minority to college "because they built our country."

Well they did have a part in building part of our nation's economy, however CD is saying they are the most responsible for building our country when in fact that's not true. Everyone working together built this beautiful country and by giving one race all the credit because they were treated badly is.... well, racist. Yes they were slaves, however both Irish and Chinese were treated like slaves and discriminated against in the same ways. In fact, basically every immigrant that came over was discriminated against because they were new. They may not have been treated as badly later on, but they were still beaten in some cases. They're also responsible for helping to build the country. Does that mean they should get free college? Should I get free college because my ancestor came on the Mayflower and helped build Plymouth? Should I get free college because his family went on a 170 years later to fight for the US's independence in the American Revolution?Should I get free college because my family worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania and helped power our country? But if black people who may not even be related to slave families get it, then why shouldn't I? My family helped FORM America.
