I've had XBL for a while now, and for the longest time, I haven't had any issues with my subscription lapsing. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, my subscription ran out yesterday and I won't be able to renew my XBL for at the very least 3 maybe 4 weeks. I have a few 2-day, 7-day and 14-day trial codes that I've been holding onto for a time like this to get me by until I can get XBL on my XB1 again.... so.... I start off by entering my 2-day trial and get ready to run my weekly stuff in destiny. To my surprise upon starting the game, I see basically all the activities locked off saying "requirements not met." I click on the nightfall (something I run SOLO) and get the message linking me to the "you must have xbox live to play" message! What is the point of even using a trial XBL code if it's gonna treat me like I have a silver account?!? I mean, come on!! There is no reason destiny should say I can't play online when MICROSOFT literally gives me a 2 day trial to play multiplayer on any other game! I don't know how it goes for people with a PS4, but I know a PS3 can play ALL destiny activities without PS Plus. Why is it such a problem that bungie has to block the people using XBL trials on either Xbox console, while PS3 users at least get to play for free all the time?? I don't have renewal issues normally. This instance of not being able to renew is because I decided to help 2 special people out who need the help more than me needing to renew my XBL, but I try to use a means of staying online that is fully allowed by MS (2-day trial), and I find this is the one game that doesn't accommodate the free pass? Give me a break! I'm sorry, but this is just dumb. Like I said... PS3 get unlimited free online while XBL users in general can't even use a pass that MS treats the same as XBL gold. Great. Thanks.
