Yeah, there's more horse's asses in this world than horses (there's an image), but onward. You said that you took elemental primaries out of the game because it limited us to a specific set of guns for activities that have burns. While I actually kinda get the backwards logic, there is an answer. A good answer - an answer that other games have had for decades: Augmentation! Why not have a gem, shard, jewel (or whatever) that can be earned in nightfalls, raids and other end-game activities that can be infused into a legendary weapon??? The type is random, and you can use it to augment your favorite shootin' irons. See? We get what we want, and we're not being limited. Let it ferment in your noodle for a spell.
