No, old gen is apparently being left behind. That's the separation.

Did you read what he wrote? He knows it's being left behind, but in the weekly update it said that the paths would split in august, but the dlc only comes out in September, so there must be something happening in august...
-
Yeah, they're not pumping out any more content for the old generation systems, likely starting in August, they will probably shut off servers, or otherwise discontinue access.

This Fall, you’ll still be able to play Destiny on legacy generation consoles, but that journey will occur on a separate path.
Editado por metastophicleas: 6/10/2016 2:36:25 AMThank you for your well thought out answer. I'm sure they'll take that under advisement. Just looked, it appears you don't even have TTK? Your opinion is completely irrelevant.
-
How exactly is it irrelevant? They specifically said that they would still continue to support legacy consoles. Me not having TTK has nothing to do with it.
-
You're not even current now, and when has Bungie ever done exactly what they said in relation to Destiny?
-
Now everything else aside, I think shutting off servers a year after the last content drops is illegal. Xbox is still keeping Live for 360 for at least a few more years.
Now everything else aside, I think shutting off servers a year after the last content drops is illegal. Xbox is still keeping Live for 360 for at least a few more years.
I don't think you know what "illegal" means. Just because Microsoft is keeping their service going, doesn't mean anyone else has to support previous gen. It makes total sense. They're ending support for an old product, and continuing support for a newer product. Why keep it going? Retire the old servers and focus on the current gen systems and new content for those. Anyone else looking too deeply into this is probably reading too much into this.

It will likely be a path of nothing. No encouragement to play, no new content, nothing. Either update, or be left behind. It's not -blam!-ing rocket science.

To be honest, I feel like they'll most likely do one "big" content drop and then end it there for last gen. Making the old raids relevant seems like the most reasonable option.
