I saw an interesting post on Bing where the writer talked about how people (mainly white people, he said that in the post) hated the randomized character creation in Rust.
**This is strictly a gaming related post. So Black people complain about this or Asians about that, you know petty sh*t is a no no.
The writer made an interesting point
° he said that minorities have gotten use to things like this (not having their race and sex as the main protagonist). He says this doesn't really bother them.
Me: and when triple A game developers do implement a minority protagonist in a game. Poop hits the fan and people go nuts. This happened to mafia 3. Guys going so far as saying they hate playing black people. Now lets be honest those guys are probably white.
Let me make this clear... ok.
1)This is not an attack on white people or any race for that matter. White people are not racists. Anyone can be racist: blacks, asians, etc.
2)I am not trying to promote race wars. No race is better than another.
3) what I said and what the writer said is pretty controversial. Now obviously I didn't talk about the full article. If I do find it I will link it. Only problem is that A) It was on my laptop. B) It was under the news feed so it now got replaced by current events. C) This is a destiny app. It will be pretty hard trying to find it or bring it on my phone.
4) If I see b8, baiter, such b8, td:lr in the comments.... I will personally take it upon myself to slap you another color. This is a serious matter.....Some what. It addresses the closet racist in the gaming industry. For the love of Christ, if you think im wrong, explain why I am wrong instead of giving me one worded response. I hate that. Write me an essay for christ sake.
Ps: if you do have a problem with playing a character outside your race. You are probably a racist.
-
I only play as warlocks because I am sexist towards humans.
-
-
No, it doesn't really bother me I like switching roles in RPG's just to see the different kind of responses and dialogues.
-
No, I don't.
-
I don't care what the character is, I care about who the character is. If I'm playing a shooter, I wanna have a character made purely out of badassium. If it's an adventure game, I want an interesting character. Whether they're black, white, asian, xeno, 2 holed or 3 holed doesn't matter.
-
I am appalled by the level of right handed bigotry in the gaming industry.
-
Since I've never thought about it I guess the answer is no.
-
No. A lot of video games have male main characters that doesn't stop me from playing them.
-
Editado por DarkEraser: 4/27/2016 11:03:12 PMI have a few problems playing as black characters (no racism intended)(I'm not telling you) and I play as all female characters in Destiny, I don't think that is a problem for me. -troygamer11

-
Yup. The only time I'll ever play as a female is when female characters have smaller hitboxes. The only time I'll ever play as a black character is if there is alot of Nightime in the game I'm playing.
-
I had no problem playing Sky run as an Argonian and GTA V as Franklin. Franklin > The Rest tho
-
I have no problem playing characters not of my sex or race! Would only have an issue if they used terminology I didn't understand
-
If I can make a character I will model it after myself or an actor who was a similar situation, if I can't do that yes I get a little upset
-
Yeah, to be honest in the beginning when I first started playing video games I ALWAYS like ALWAYS wanted to be a girl and if there was no girl I wouldn't really enjoy it, (I would be playing with my bro.) But now I guess I'm kinda over it.
-
I mean, in a randomized character creation scenario like Rust, or if I don't really have a choice in the matter, like in Mafia 3 (was it Mafia 3?), I don't really have a problem with it. But, if I have the option to make a character how I want, like in every Bethesda game ever, I'm gonna pick somebody of my race and gender.
-
If it's a character created for the game, nope. But I would never make a player created character that's not my race. I don't know why, I just wouldn't. Guess I'm racist.
-
If it's not white then it's not right
-
Well I really dont care for the race. But I do like keeping my gender for some reason
-
1 RespuestaNormally female characters have access to the cute outfits sooo yeah thats about it lol.
-
I really don't care about character gender. Borderlands made me realise that it does not matter if your character is a man or woman. Race doesn't matter either (unless it's Skyrim and I have to pick for bonuses)
-
Puts hand up guiltily yet ashamed. I have a problem with playing with a different gender, and the race depends if I find it appealing enough.
-
Reminds me of the writer who said pb&j sandwiches are racist. Not you op. Playing gta v. I liked franklin a lot. Hated his friend lamar. Mainly played as Trevor just for the wtf factor.
-
I just prefer to play a character that resembles me on the first play through After that I'll screw around a little in character creation
-
I mean if I can create a character then great, but if it's a fixed character like say a main protagonist then I don't mind. I can see why people could be upset if it's based on a random system though.
-
I take the males cause I do and I really don't care what race
