At the moment, Destiny 2 is scheduled for a 2017 release. It would have to be a worst-case scenario for more people to continue playing Destiny instead of moving onto the new game, which I do not expect. But that's not what this thread is about.
I wanted to know if there are any plans to get an offline version of Destiny available around the time Destiny 2 comes out. Of course, it would most likely be limited to story missions, or maybe some strikes modified to be completed single-player (without being a god). As high my hopes are for 2, there is a lot of great stuff in Destiny (levels, weapons, storyline, etc) that might not get reused, and I would hate to see it become inaccessible.
So there's my question: Will Destiny 2 mark the death of Destiny 1? Or will there be a means to play such a wonderful game after it is disconnected from the Bungie servers? Even having to put another $20 in to get the campaign offline would be nice.

Being how much Activision loves to brag about "Registered Users" I don't see D2 having any offline function. Bungie loves their stats and want to know every move you make.
