I have heard from people that experience similar problems that changing the FOV does indeed help. However, I've never had a problem with it. Wish I had more information to help you.
There have been some games in the past that originally had their FOV locked, but people having motion sickness problems resulted in mods/developer response. Might want to look up mods.

You might be surprised. I've seen some games have mods the day of release. Don't hold me to this, but I think I remember some game getting a FOV mod just a few hours after it released. Might be wrong on that one. Wouldn't hurt to check, though.

Even if it does, I have the game on PS4, so I'm not holding my breath on any mods. Maybe Thekla will do a patch, though.
