I heard about the Glyph cheese and watched a youtube video on it. Eventually I came across a fire team that wanted to try it. After a wipe or two adjusting to the new tactics we finished it pretty quickly. I wouldn't say it was significantly easier than the normal strategy, maybe slightly. As long as the people holding the totems can handle the adds and the boomers. Of course it's critical that those staying mid help them out by killing all the adds that spawn up there. It was fun to try as something new and to say I've done it but I don't feel the need to press for it to be the standard strategy.
I will say that I understand the appeal of the cheese for lower light Guardians. Being 307 to 312 light on those totems with boomers, thrall, acolytes and hallowed knights all light level 320 coming at you can be a little daunting. Now that all my characters are 317/318 it's so much easier.
