A few months back a popular meme featuring a phone prank coined the phrase, "Deez nuts". I'm not generally one for politics but, I was VERY surprised that during one of the 2016 presidential polls "Deez nuts" was written in by so many people in Iowa that he was almost at 1/10 of the vote in the state. Like I said earlier, I'm not normally even interested in politics but, this made me wonder about who was voting. If that number of people was able to vote for him as a write in, (someone who you randomly pick), and get that percentage of the vote, you would need a large community of people to come out and vote with that person in mind. The ONLY thing that I can think would cause this is if the voters came from a source that is generally un-tapped by politics. The online community. (probably 4chan or some reddit page) I realize that for those of you that spend a LOT of time online, politics doesn't really matter. I was hoping though that we could see just how many of you all do/don't vote. I for one am astonished that with the candidates that we have had this year, nobody better has stepped up. I'm just wondering if it's because the newer generations are all online and don't care. Now, to the point of this. I've gone out and made a Strawpoll ( http://strawpoll.me/6472978 ). For those unfamiliar, it's a popular free website that you can use to vote on things. I've only included a few of the candidates (the top 2 in either party that I see or hear of on tv) I would be very interested and appreciative if you took the time to cast your vote so I can answer my question of "How involved is the Online community?" For future questions, I only included a few candidates on the poll, if you'd please click other if your candidate isn't their that would be appreciated. TL:DR - If Deez nuts can be a 10% candidate in Iowa as a write in, who's voting? Does the online community have a large pool of people who can sway the vote but don't vote?
