Give me a break...

Bungie is silent for a year-not a peep about the missing story, or the obvious difference between what had been shown prior to launch and what was shipped. Now suddenly there is this very long article, citing several sources within Bungie, that gives us the whole "scoop!" These sources, who must remain anonymous because they "aren't allowed" to discuss these things, lay out the entire drama beginning to end, basically saying the higher ups at Bungie didn't like the story, so they scrapped it. Why now? If they're still not supposed to talk about it and must remain anonymous, why wait until now? Because it's a controlled leak. Now that TTK is out Bungie doesn't have to hide the fact that everything we've seen so far was supposed to be in the original game. So now we know. And now we know why...right? Wrong. We're still being fed bullshit. This "they didn't like the story" story makes even less sense than the story they replaced the original story with! That's saying a lot! The assets were built. The actors were hired. The dialogue was recorded. Release was imminent...and management wasn't fully aware of the story??? That's either the worst management team EVER, or its complete crap. It is, of course, crap. It wasn't that they didn't like the story. What Bungie and/or Activision decided they didn't like was the fact that the game, as it was, wasn't going to have a continuous revenue stream. If they released the huge, epic game as it was originally planned, most people would play through the whole thing, be SATISFIED, and be done, because it was a COMPLETE EXPERIENCE. They wouldn't have to buy anything more. That makes business executives sad. Bungievision could have literally put a dog turd in every Destiny case, and they would have made their millions, because we all "knew" this was going to be the greatest game ever created. That's what they were betting on, and man,did they play it right.
