Laurea Primea, not just a shiny new emblem
Not so much a discussion topic as sharing something with the community.
I know many people have complained about how little Bungie are rewarding us Year One players. From the Day Ones, to the Christmas Noobs, to the Wolfhunters all the way to the Kinderguardians that came in only a couple months ago. We will lose much in The Taken King and be rewarded with very little.
However, today for the first time I completed the Prison of Elders 35, ended Skolas's life and earned the Laurea Primea as well as my place among the "Legends" of this game thanks to the help of some great people. Now that might not mean much to all of you, but for a completely solo player like me, it was something special.
I have never done end game content before the announcement of the Laurea Primea for fear of being an insatisfactory team member and meeting some of the unpleasant, elitist douchebags I see so often on the Feedback forums. But this got me out there. This got me to wake up and fight for something I hadn't done before. It got me to work hard to get to a point where I wasn't a burden but an asset to other players. And now, here I stand.
Basically what I want to do is thank Bungie for giving me the motivation to do something special, something different. But more importantly, I want to thank all the players that have helped me for their patience, support and companionship on my way through Destiny and its many challenges.

Dude, it's good folks like you who make me Love playing Destiny. I felt the exact same way you did. I've never felt that kind of achievement (in a video game) before.

That's good enough for me to show dedication. Good to hear someone enjoys the game enough to go for the gold.

I'm sick of hearing about players who aren't day 0 beta fags are somehow inferior. -blam!-ing news flash, we were all playing the Destiny beta during Year 1, putting up with that shit kind of makes us all legendary. But I will admit I was excited for every new expansion, imagining all the cool stuff I could get, and nothing made me happier than the etheric light. Now I'm just completely disappointed there won't be any year 2 continuation of that..

1 RespuestaCongratulations! I'm about the same boat as you, and didn't really invested my time in destiny until HoW came out. Beaten Skolas first in early August, and completed Crota and Atheon like 1~2 weeks ago. (I have 4 raids completed in my stats). All these are possible because of fellow guardian who are willing and extremely patient showing me the ropes. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!

Grats mate... I only did skolas 4 times, 2 for me and 2 to help, and was only when was solar damage... That thing don't deserve the time and effort after finishing it first time -.-
