A Dreg's Hope

The lowly Dreg looked up with hopeful eyes. He clutched his weapon with pride. Although he was a Dreg there was still a chance. Wasn't Skolas a Dreg once? Every Dreg has a dream. Most want power. Others want something to believe in: a cause. These days there's barely any hope for the Fallen. Skolas is dead. Winter Archon? Dead. Kalik's? Dead. The House of Exile has to worry about the Hive. House of Kings has no current chance of gaining the Last City. Every House is turned against each other. House of Wolves seems to be the only civilized House. Only a Vandal would understand this. A Captain? To much responsibility to think about it. A Dreg? To ignorant. I guess you could say this Dregs hope is much like Skolas'. To bring each house together. His only hope in being heard is through glory. To kill. Now why would a Dreg have so much hope and dreams when he only has two arms? There is a story in the Fallen ranks that is important to the Dregs: "Unnamed and eternal, the star-catcher would lead the Fallen, rising from the lowest station to the highest exalted peaks..." Funny how Skolas once lived by this story. Funny how one could hope for so much, only to die in the end of it all.
