I think they should adjust Thorn (lower DoT, or impact, or rate of fire), roll back Autos to how they were before the last balancing act, fix The Last Word's ADS glitch, and undo the collateral damage nerf that affected the spread on the Vex Mythoclast. That's it. I really, really think that's all they need to do.

  • Actually most of the numbers here are way off. Plus you are not taking into consideration soft ballistics vs aggressive ballistics with TLW. There are plenty of accurate table out there with damage outputs and YouTube videos. The truth is, your damage output numbers that you have listed here are pretty far off.

  • I have looked at that table before as well, it's a good one. However, some of those numbers can vary slightly too. (You can confirm by just jumping on Destiny now). That being said you can hit higher precision number while ADS when aiming down sights. For instance I might normally hit 77 while ADS and then occasionally the gun will proc and I'll hit 101 while ADS. It's normal ADS damage is fairly low compared to the higher impact HCs like Hawkmoon. BUT, then every now and again the bonus damage will proc. You don't always hit the higher damage when ADS. You normally will hit the lower damage. So again, it's not a bug. The bonus damage has a proc coefficient tied to it.

  • you have 3 people and graphical data telling you that it is Broken, along with an entire community of youtubers and redditors saying the same thing. The extra [u]hip fire[/u] damage is supposed to be procced EVERY time you hit precision while [u]hip firing[/u]. It's not supposed to apply AT ALL while ADS. It's doing something it shouldn't do according to the weapon descriptions... thus it's broken. If you still think it's not then I can no longer waste time on you.

  • Sorry son, you are wrong. Do you personally work for Bungie boy? Have you personally spoken to them to get the inside scoop. Doubtful, therefore you have zero clue as to how they intended the bonus damage to work. Come to me when you have some evidence so that I can take it back to my lab and analyze it with science.

    Well, because if that bonus damage is supposed to occur, it should always be a two shot headshot? Which, that would be extraordinarily unbalanced, and also it does less than 111 damage per headshot normally.

  • No, it's not random. It's not a damn Hawkmoon. Regardless of whether it is how you see it, or how most people see it, it still needs adjustment, so that it doesn't kill you in an instant with it's "bonus damage".

  • It specifically states in the perk that it has bonus precision damage while hipfiring. It also says that it has bonus damage and stability, however, if the general bonus damage and stability were included in the ADS shots, they would be procured during noncritical shots, however, ONLY CRITICAL SHOTS PROCURE BONUS DAMAGE. Meaning that evidently, the perk is broken......since it procures while not hipfiring.

  • I would tend to agree that all exotic HC's need some sort of (relatively small) nerf, while autos need to be viable again. I just don't get why it's taken 5 months to even mention it. Some people want changes across the board, but I think even the few relatively small changes you mentioned would work wonders until the release of TTK.

  • Dude, I think the small changes I suggested would be IT until they find all the glitches that TTK is going to have. Scouts are good where they're at. Pulses are good too. Legendary Handcannons are good too. Autorifles are just plain ass. Oh, and Hawkmoon is fine where it's at too. It's kind of an RNGesus gun. Sure, people will still go crazy about shotguns, but to be honest that's kind of the problem with most of Destiny's Crucible maps. They're just quite small or full of cover.

  • Mmm, I get what you're saying, but I feel that if the Thorn and TLW are changed and no other changes are made to the HC class (which I also think legendaries are in a good spot,) then one of the few things people will know to turn to is Hawkmoon, and I feel maybe a very small adjustment could be made in perhaps the RoF or stability section, though when I say small, I mean just barely enough to notice a difference between the current version and the 'new' version. Although it's entirely possible that since XBox users do not have access to it yet, there would not be enough complaints to elicit a nerf in Bungie's point of view. And if that were to happen and they could [i]safely[/i] leave Hawkmoon alone, I would still be completely fine with it.

    I don't know. I've used Hawkmoon enough that I feel the random luck perks give you a more consistent advantage over AI opponents than human ones.
