Is The Taken King Worth The $40?
I just want to hear your personal opinions on whether you think The Taken King is worth the hefty price we're paying for it. If you believe it isn't worth $40, feel free to list your reasoning below.

27 RespuestasIts really annoying that you have to keep spending all this money just to keep up. I understand that continually adding content keeps the game alive, but $40 really? And a season pass doesn't cover this? Stupid. For $40 there better be 3+ raids and tons of new content. Also dissapointed it wasn't a cabal expansion.

I get why there doing it to entice new players. but I get why so many of us feel jaded and It is my honest opinion that destiny is not worth 130 for collectors then 40 us$ for taken it'll probably be more like 60 here in aus so I'm looking at 200 dollers for what at max 20 hours of content that you just keep doing over and over again tge games not big it's just deceiving I also think this may be the last nail in the coffin for all the vets that have out up with a plethora of shit since day 1 and there's so many better games coming out in the next 6 months if destiny doesn't attract a new fan base it will die sore people will still play it but with little matchmaking for endgame strikes new players will find of very hard to fine reliable raid teams so on and so forth seriously though 200 dollers on a game that if your lucky you could complete all of the content once in a week (without taken king no idea how much tgere will be but there track record isn't great so I'm not holding my breath)

Like i told the other guy: Ok ok.. Let me lay some mathematicals on you right here. Real quick. Ok. Aight. Check it. It's like this. You ready? Alright listen here, you're about to learn yourself a thing or two. Alright so.... $60 for the Taken King Legendary edition. Which like you said, includes 4 things. Destiny, exp 1, exp 2, and TTK. So for players that already have the first 3 they can buy TTK expansion for 40 bucks. This means Bungie/Activision value it at 40 bucks. Ok now take the 60 from the Legendary and subtract 40. You are left with a price of 20 for a total of 3 things! 20 bucks is what they value Destiny, Exp 1, and Exp 2... All that for 20!? Not even a whole year has gone by and I've paid 95 dollars for those 3 things! So to summarize: no its not fair, it doesnt make sense. What can we do as consumers? Well I'll tell you what im gona do. Im not paying any more money. Im gona spend my money on much better games made by much better developers.

Depends entirely on what the outgoing product is. If it's basically a new game sure. If it's like these other DLC it'll be the last game I ever buy from bungie. I'm confident they priced it appropriate to it worth.

I said no never, only because I think the INGAME items that so far are only available through the collectors editions is unfair to us vet day1 players. I will be buying the taken king for $40, no problem with that. But the collectors edition can keep all their cool collectables, that's fine. But the 3 exotic class items and 3 class emotes should be in the base DLC. I don't want the collectables, so why should I pay another 40$ on top of the The Taken King just for items that should already be in the DLC.

It includes: Destiny the game The Dark Below House of Wolves The Taken King If you already own the first three things on that list and only need The Taken King, you have to pay $40 for The Taken King. That doesn't add up.

1 RespuestaI find it ridiculous that the destiny "seasons pass" doesn't include all of the DLC. The price is outrageous. It doesn't make any sense that the game, with all the DLC should be $60, yet this DLC be $40 for everyone who paid full price for the game and the other DLC.

2 RespuestasTruthfully I look at it like this Game- $60 Expansion pass- $25 The taken king expansion-$40 Total- $125 This is what I paid/ would pay for the game as someone who has been here from day one picked up my copy at the midnight launch Retail price for all above in one case brand new at best edition with all the bells and whistles- $80 No, I do not think it is worth the extra $45 dollars that I would have in total difference cost to buy the taken king. In fact it almost pisses me off that the true fans that have been here since day one and are still here still playing and simply love this game. The guardians who have donated to your causes and bought your merch and essentially have paid your paychecks are getting robbed. I understand that it is about making money. But you messed up on the marketing of this expansion. And unless the price goes down or gets cut completely for this expansion. You have lost a guardian. Just like other games with expansions I don't see how it's so hard to require the previous game be bought first then charge the expansion. The way it's marketed is complete crap and screws over your real fans. Just a thought. IDK

As of now, 57% of those who have taken part of the poll agreed that the Taken King appears, for now, to be worth $40. The remaining 43% said otherwise. Sorry for any confusion. For someone like me? Sure. I like destiny a lot. I'll pick it up for $40. There are two things that are rather upsetting though. 1) I can't buy the collectors edition without rebuying Destiny and both expansions. I just wanted the new emotes and shaders. 2) $80 for all of it does seem a little light. I could understand $100 for the whole thing. That would make more sense.
