Which is the better replacement for Field Scout? Casket Mag or Appended Mag?
Field Scout is easily my favorite perk in the game; I've always looked for shotguns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, and machine guns with this perk... not only for the largest possible magazine, for the highest possible amount of reserve ammo, which is very handy in PvE.
But Bungie removed Field Scout from weapon rolls for all House of Wolves weapons (anything with the "Reforge Ready" perk), and replaced it with two new perks; Casket Mag, and Appended Mag.
I want to know; which of these is closer to Field Scout? Again, I need to get the highest possible reserve ammo, not just a larger magazine. If you can give me explicit details on what these perks do for different weapon types (shotguns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, machine guns) I'd appreciate it.

2 RespuestasSame findings as cptMustasche, 2 spare change .25's one with appended mag, one with casket mag. Total ammo didn't change, only mag size, 24-30 with both. Reserve ammo "shrinks" but total ammo is the same. Personally I'll go with appended mag to keep the stability casket looses, if I can't get extended mag that is. Armor for reserve ammo it is then :/

2 RespuestasFollowed and will update soon, I was lucky enough to get two Spare Change .25's from iron banner so far. Even luckier, one has casket, the other has appended. I'll be able to update you for pulse rifles at least, just need to level them both. I do like how the appended keeps the stability. If there is no difference, I'll be going with slightly slower reload over stability loss.

Appended brought one from 24 up to a 30 round mag, didn't get to check reserve & still working on the casket mag gun. I might just end up ascending my old ones w/ field scout. I have an unfriendly giant, Vanquisher, against all odds, two to the morgue(w/return to sender;) and a few more I haven't dismantled for vault space.

I'm unsure and cannot answer your question unfortunately. I do however wish to add that skip rounds give a slight impact bonus and increases the total reserve ammo. S'all I got. L8.

Your best bet is to get armor that has carry more ammo for whichever gun you're using.
