For those wondering about what the chest looks like and Where you get the treasure key from here is a video showing you, nice and short. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itooQWKTnvU Note the key is to be used in the House of wolves DLC when it comes out by the looks of it.
Description on the key says "Used to access the queen's crystal barrows beneath the prison of Elders "
Update you can get the same chest multiple times if you leave the area and come back as long as the key buff is still up, enjoy farming people!
Update: you do not need to have a bounty to get the chest, just kill the bounty boss and you will still get a key buff to open the chest.

1 RespuestaI've done so many chests (at least 3 times each) and the only great stuff has been 2 legendary engrams, no keys ;_;. I guess I shouldn't complain though

1 RespuestaEditado por Farmer: 5/16/2015 4:36:39 PMHere's what the keys are for: When you beat the Prison of Elders the final boss will drop a key, that key opens the treasure room/chests. He will only drop one per week at each level (like raid rewards). However, if you have a key from farming the chests (or any other game activity that rewards keys) you can do Prsion of Elders again in the same week and receive rewards again. It's awesome and a brilliant idea - didn't figure this out on my own, was mentioned on IGN's Fireteam Chat podcast.
