Since it's not long to the release of HoW and we get all this new gear from the DLC so I was wondering - should I start storing all of my Legendary and Exotic Engrams on my Vault and Encrypt them when the DLC is released?

Don't store engrams they will only be dark below gear however it is believed that cyrptach packages earned before HoWs but opened after will contain HoW engrams
-
1 RespuestaNo one of the DB engrams will come out as HoW items
-
Here's the thing, yes they don't decrypt into HoW gear, but they level up the cryptarch who then drops packages that can contain HoW gear I don't know why people have so much trouble understanding this. You aren't saving them to get HoW gear from *that* engram. You save them to boost the cryptarch.

I do not use any space in my vault for Armor so I am saving all my Armor engrams at the very least they upgrade the cryptarch rank. I am also saving all my Faction packages. I was also saving a heavy leg engram but I might as well go ahead and cash it in and get my Gjalla.
-
Maybe. I haven't tried this yet, but Im saving up a couple to try this for myself.
-
They won't be HoW gear if peoples' experience with doing the same thing before crota dropped is any indication. Seems like they are at least locked into the drops available during whatever verson the game was when they were first acquired. You could still use them to rank up the cryptarch, but odds are this will probably just get you mostly blue engrams anyway. Yay free HoW blues...?

I am saving engrams, but not to decrypt into how gear. That won't happen. I am saving them so that I can level cryptarch 2-4 times depending on how many I get for the care packages. Those new engrams should yield post dlc stuff. Currently I need about twenty more to get 3 levels, so that should be a quick 6-12 engrams. If even one is legendary then it's worth trying, I figure. But none of my current engrams will decrypt into how gear, I know that and accept it.
-
Yes because you can level up your cryptarch
-
They wont drop HoW gear
-
No. They are time stamped.
-
They are not pre determined, however, they may not have dlc on them if that makes sense.
-
HELL YES! Don't be stupid. Other people are correct to say that you won't get new gear from old engrams. The benefit to storing them is to rank up with the cryptarch really fast, and get new packages, which have a chance to give you new gear.
-
6 Respuestasno they're pre-determined and you will get old stuff most likely. Several people tried that with TDB
-
-
Doesn't work but what you can do is get all your faction to being a sliver away from rank 3+
-
You can use them to level up cryptark and get Packages after the expansion drops. Otherwise it will still be the old weapons
-
Doesn't work that way. Already been tried with TDB and it didn't work.
-
It's been "marked" you could say. You will only get pre-expansion items.
-
3 RespuestasI wouldn't. For crota, everyone that did that wound up with pre dlc items anyway. Same with care packages. I feel pretty strongly that engrams and packages are already determined when you first get them. I can't cite any evidence to support that feeling, but I imagine someone has done some data mining on it. What I AM doing is edging out all my faction rep (getting them within a few patrols or matches of leveling). Then, AFTER the dlc drops, I will level them all up and get 5 post-dlc care packages one each of my characters.
-
I am, but only to lvl my cryptarc after the dlc
-
Editado por Zoop: 4/30/2015 10:08:43 PMOnly for quickly levelling cryptarch and get rewards (not really worth it, go for faction levelups) Your engrams will have fixed pre-dlc loottables, so no new stuff will drop from it, same for packages at postmaster (but these can give xp too, a lot more useful).
-
nope, I did that before TDB, and all my old engrams still turned into old legendaries.
-
Will packages give HoW gear?
-
4 RespuestasYes! I'm saving every legendary and exotic engram I get before HoW drops.
-
Don't spend your motes on extioc engrams yet wait until the next dlc
