Each faction offers a specific combo of stat rolls though (as described above) so if you favor certain stats on certain characters, then yes.

Honestly I do it for the weapons and shaders....not much else... the armor isn't as good as raid gear or exotics...even IB gear would be better by far. There are weapons tho that would be great replacements over an exotic to fulfill certain needs and situations. - Currently I run one of each as vanguard itself isn't doing much for me. The other upside is the factions are crucible centric...so your going to get crucible commendations and such.
