Just finished playing some strikes from the Roc playlist and was amazed at the number of players cheesing certain sections.
Archon Priest
Players sniping from the cliff or on the ketch while clearing the 3 waves of vex.
Players sniping the boss from up on the cliff.
Nexus
Players staying up on the ledge or in the cheesing spot during the boss fight.
Phogoth
Players sniping from the shrieker room, never really being able to contribute seeing as how the rest of us have him aggro'd down the other end of the room.
Why do people do this? Is it laziness, or just old-fashioned scrubbery? Funnily enough, these players usually finished with less than half as many kills, yet were consistently awarded the best loot.
"Oh look, you got 33 kills, have a Mida Multi Tool".
"What's that, sir? You were dead most of the strike? Legendary Engram".
*Shakes fist at sky* "Curse you RNG! Curse you.
-
I never cheese, kill everyone and finish fast. but then again, I'm not a scrub.
-
You have no idea what you are talking about. Not a single thing you posted is "cheese" that's called tactics. You morons need to quit posting this cheese crap. You are one of the morons that makes it harder for the other players because you get killed in the first 2 mins, because you went running Rambo style into the middle if the room
-
Sounds to me like you've an aversion to anyone who likes to snipe. If this was really about cheese, you would mention Rockets McDickface's chandelier, or stack of boxes. Or the room on the upper left of sepkis that you can glitches out of the map on......or the three areas you can do the same on the Omnigul strike........
-
I hate people cheesing archon, making dropships all the time.. But yes they must be pretty noobish. If someone annoys me and die, I dance on his dead body for 30 seconds
-
you sir get it. It's just annoying and unnecessary. I once had 2 32's stay up top for the nexus on the lvl 14 strike. How bad/lazy do you have to be to not drop down on a -blam!-ing LVL 14 STRIKE?!?!?!?
-
Here let me stand out in the open and die because taking cover is for scrubs
-
So no joke, I did the nexus roc strike and a guy got the mida with 33 kills
-
I like how none of that was cheese in the first place. There's no exploitation in sniping from a difference. It's a defensive playstyle. Though I'll admit it's a tad annoying during Phogoth.
-
I totally agree these are the strikes that we need to have fun. Nightfall is for cheering. Jk
-
ROC strikes well I think that's a bit crazy, but on NightFalls I'm a bit more careful and might do some of that, but not on Roc strikes unless I was really low level.
-
Nightfalls, all day long. Strikes, get your arses out there and fight!
-
Players taking shortcuts and etc don't really bother me, but I'll admit that I'm an adult that doesn't really worry too much about players that are playing how they want to instead of how I want them to play.
-
None of those are cheeses. They are not glitching the game they are just using a different route to defeat the boss than you
-
None of them are cheeses. LOL
"Oh look, you got 33 kills, have a Mida Multi.
lol were u playing with me

Editado por Morbryn: 3/18/2015 1:43:29 PMYou know what it could be?
"What's that, sir? You were dead most of the strike? Legendary Engram".
RNG is rewarding us "scrubs" for staying alive to revive you "elites" who get killed 18 times while standing out in the open in a level 26 strike. My low kill rate isn't due to me taking cover. It's due to spending all of my time running around to revive you heroes who think you're bullet proof rather than killing enemies.
-
The only strikes consistently "cheese" is on Devil's Lair with the devil walker. I only do that because I find it hilarious to do with black hammer.
-
I just love killing that minatour that spawns behind you on the nexus strike. Make him my bitch. Going to the bottom you end up just running from splash damage the whole time.
-
I do whatever gets the strike done faster. Some cheeses seem slow and more work than the regular method though. It also depends on what my team is doing as I prefer to work as a team.
-
i think it's because people are tired of doing the same strikes over and over again. which makes them want to get the bossfight over with and collect their bounties and xp. i dont blame them, people arent as excited to kill hoards of stuff like in the beginning. i dont mind.
-
At least for archon strike and nexus thats how you get maximum damage on the bosses.. black hammer on archon, 80% of the time i keep him stun locked so everyone can hit him easily while up there and for nexus his weak point is always open for faster kill... agree with phogoth unless its a nightfall as i usually run in and stun lock him with black hammer as well

Okay so sniping is cheese?
-
Editado por DeltaZulu77: 3/18/2015 12:44:23 PMSniping from the cliff on the Archon Priest isn't cheese. It's s good strategy and it's fun to play the sniper roll. I like to do it. I don't always do it, I mostly go ham with a shotty anymore around the rocks down low. I just wanted to point out its not a cheese and if you like being that long distance sniper it's super fun. The other instances are pretty cheesy.

Editado por StoneC0ldSteve: 3/18/2015 3:14:48 PMArchon priest I start out on the far balcony, move to the cave opposite the cell, move to the side where you come in, by then he's dead. Nexus, snipe till minotaur shows up, jump down and kill minotaurs, go to the right one section, blow up the glowy box thing, crouch behind that wall and snipe Time Crisis style. Phogoth, back left corner/ that whole side.. My biggest peeve is when people run out and release Phogoth before clearing the adds. Its so much easier if you wipe the first set out before releasing her.

After reading this post, I finally understand why I'm not that great at this game. My years of real life military experience have ruined my chances of ever becoming legend in Destiny. If you use cover to avoid being killed, you're cheesing and you're a scrub. If you run out into the open canyon and let the land tank blast you to bits, you're elite. Now it all makes sense. I'm doomed to scrubhood forever.

Interesting. I tend to consider "cheese" to be stuff that breaks the believability of the mission to do - like pushing through a wall to skip a room. I've killed Phogoth from the Shrieker room, Sekrion from the cliff top, and Aksor from the rock shelf near the entrance. I don't tend to do any of these things because actually, they are no easier than moving closer in. They are also no fun. But I don't consider them being cheese. If I'm paired on a strike with two others who want to do it that way, I'm not going to complain. I'm just happy if they aren't chatty racist/sexist/fascist idiots. The Crota chasm cross without the bridge counts as cheese because I have to dodge invisible kill-zones - but really this is just poor level design. Bungie should have worked out what the maximum in-flight distance could be. Make the chasm twice as wide, make the bridge last twice as long, and the sword last 10 seconds more. No more cheese. Do not tell me that the extra COMPLETELY EMPTY SPACE takes too much processing power to include, because I won't believe you. The same is true about the strikes - the AI is dreadful to allow any of these cheeses. Why can't the Vex spawns (which let's face it, make no sense anyway) chase the party back up the path instead of standing in line to be shot? or teleport in surrounding the players wherever they were? Why don't the gobs and hobbos and harpies in Sekrion teleport onto the ledge if that is where the attackers are? Why doesn't Phogoth hide around the corner until the players come out? If Aksor followed the players back down the path, it would be a more interesting game. Or if he just headed off the other way and boarded a ship - e.g. Aksor escapes, players lose. It's a mind-numbingly stupid contrived fight in the first place. Why did we let him out? Why does he fight instead of run? To make up for these inconsistencies, and to save Bungie from having to build a bigger end-boss-room with a layout that wasn't just "circular arena with cover", I have to fight at shotgun range.
