I just saw Chappie...
Great movie and I loved every minute of it! Massive end spoilers follow though regarding the ending of Chappie and Destinys exo story. [spoiler]How Chappie figured out how to bring consciousness from a human being to a robot. Would of been an excellent story for how the Exo's came to be! Especially after his mom does at the end and he transfers her consciousness to a new robot [/spoiler]

I've only seen the trailer, but the movie covers an interesting controversial issue about AGI (artificial general intelligence). Thanks to movies like Space Odyssey, Alien, and Terminator and books like i robot, Americans have a negative view of AGI. We believe that they would turn on their creators and kill them. Other cultures, like that of the Japanese, believe differently. This movie seems to me like it tries to address the two views of the issue.

I saw it too and I honestly didn't like it. The characters were all selfish and the movie seemed to insist upon itself. It had some great ideas but I thought they were poorly executed.
