Nope. I don't care if if an 18-year-old thinks they "love" a 15-year-old, find someone your own age. I'm sure you'll find a way to get over the heartbreak. I'd make a slight exception if they're both still in high school and one or the other has a early or late birthday (respectively).

That's fine. Just because of the level of maturity changes which occur at such a rapid rate in High School. Also, to the others, I merely answered the OP's title's hypothetical question out of the context of the linked story. Sorry for the confusion. The reason I'm okay with what TU suggested is because, considering high school is around the time people start engaging in sexual acts, those acts are, in the US anyway, illegal in the situation listed in the OP. A 15- and 17-year-old can do whatever they want together.

They are both still in highschool. The charged party was expelled. The 15 year old was in Grade 10 at the time. This is a situation of a Grade 10 girl and a Grade 12 girl dating. Those age groups date quite frequently.
