It's quite sad that in D1 an auto rifle is stronger in PvE than D2.
And yes, that is primarily because of different sandboxes, no -blam!- sherlocks! However, how can it be that I can kill in D1 2-3 red bars with a single auto rifle mag of 25 rounds in a Nightfall but in Destiny 2 I need almost the entire mag with 30-45 rounds of the gun for a single red bar?
Auto Rifles feel so bad in D2 compared to D1. No wonder why everyone plays Hand Canons, Scout Rifles or Pulse Rifles.

I have a feeling that you are comparing different archetypes rather than actual weapons. But even if it is true, i'd rather just wanna use our massive arsenal of abilities and other types of weapons than shoot with flimsy sausages at a 20+ level captain
